Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Off at 4.5 against Unified Remote's 3.8. Off also leads on device support (4 vs 2). Unified Remote's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (67% vs 52%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Off sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Unified Remote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Off holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 497 and 296 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Off's written reviews are positive against 67% of Unified Remote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Off ships an update every 3 weeks, Unified Remote fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
