Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: DC Books at 1.9 against Readwhere's 1.0. DC Books also leads on ratings volume (12 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Readwhere's advantage is review sentiment (42% vs 11%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Readwhere sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and DC Books sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
DC Books holds the better App Store score, 1.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DC Books has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Readwhere's written reviews are positive against 11% of DC Books's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Readwhere ships an update every 2 months, DC Books every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
