Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Inventory Scan at none against Inventory Business's 1. Inventory Scan also leads on review sentiment (63% vs 30%) and ratings volume (487 vs 3). Inventory Business's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Inventory Business sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Inventory Scan asks for nothing beyond the download.
Inventory Business holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Inventory Scan has 487 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Inventory Business's written reviews are positive against 63% of Inventory Scan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Inventory Business ships an update monthly, Inventory Scan every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
