Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Chomog at 3.5 against Zalo's 2.1. Chomog also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Zalo's advantage is ratings volume (8.5K vs 2) and chart position (#120 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Zalo sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Chomog sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Chomog holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zalo has 8.5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Zalo ships an update every 10 days, Chomog every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
