Verdict
Fred Meyer and Local Herb both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Local Herb's written reviews are positive against 10% of Fred Meyer's. Local Herb also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Fred Meyer's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (145K vs 11). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
