Also featured are Technical Bulletins providing engineering information for wood poles, as well as service life and environment benefits of poles. Users also can learn about wood crossarms and their important role in overhead systems. The Engineering Tools section features an ANSI Dimension Calculator that shows the circumference 6 ft. from the butt end of the pole, based on the species, length, minimum top circumference and class. The Pole Weight Estimator provides the range of weights for each species, based on the length and class of the pole. In both utilities, users can select the criteria and search for the specific pole desired. A new Outreach section offers details on a coloring book for elementary school-aged children that can be customized for utilities for community outreach activities.
