Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WorkoutTracker at none against RepCount's 6. WorkoutTracker also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.0). RepCount's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 7) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RepCount sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. WorkoutTracker asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for RepCount against 5.0 for WorkoutTracker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RepCount has 13K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 93% of RepCount's written reviews are positive against 100% of WorkoutTracker's.
RepCount ships an update every 2 weeks, WorkoutTracker every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and June 11, 2026 respectively.
