About

Daybound

Features

Daybound records where you are as you move, without you opening the app, keeps the whole history in a spreadsheet that belongs to you, and lets you explore every trip you ever made on a 3D map. WHY A SHEET Day counts matter for years: settlement, citizenship, tax residence, visas. A record locked inside an app is only as durable as the app. Your Daybound history is an ordinary spreadsheet in your Google Drive. Open it, share it with your adviser, back it up, or delete the app; the record stays yours. TRACKS BY ITSELF With “Always” location access, iOS wakes Daybound when you move: arrivals, departures and the roads between them. Every fix is a row in your sheet. From those fixes the app works out where you spent each night, which is what the day rules count, with room for evidence like a flight or train reference. COUNTS DAYS THE WAY THE LAW DOES Each bound applies its own definition of a day: • UK settlement and citizenship: whole days outside the UK only; departure and return days do not count. • Schengen 90/180 and the US Substantial Presence Test: any part of a day counts. • UK Statutory Residence Test: where you are at midnight. Every day shows which bounds it counts for, and why. KNOW WHEN YOU CAN APPLY Goals such as UK settlement project the earliest date you can apply from the day your permission started, restarting the qualifying period if a bound was ever breached. An absence with a compelling reason can be marked as explained to see the date without it; the app reminds you that disregarding absences is at the authority's discretion. EXPLORE EVERY TRIP Your whole travel history on Apple's 3D map, from the planet down to the street. Countries you have lived in are shaded, each place you stayed is a pin named after the town, and your movements are drawn where you actually went. Pick a year, a month or a country and the map, the summary and the list of stays follow. Tap a place to fly into it. Import your Google Maps Timeline and the years before the app appear too. Stays, countries, and your absences are also listed in the layout of the settlement form. CORRECTIONS YOU CAN DEFEND The only manual action is “Correct this day”. It needs a reason, and the reason is written into the sheet next to the day. A LOG YOU OWN Every location fix and every statement you make is a row in one append-only log in a spreadsheet in your Google Drive. Nights, bounds and goals are worked out from it. Import your Google Maps Timeline export to bring the past with you. ALSO • Home-screen and lock-screen widgets with days used and the last safe day. • Notifications when a night is written and when a bound gets close to its limit. • CSV and PDF export. • Works offline; changes are queued until you are back online. • No account with us, no server, no analytics. FREE No subscription, no in-app purchases. This app uses background location to record where you are as you move. Continued use of background location may decrease battery life. Daybound is not legal or tax advice. Check the rules that apply to you.
