eGohm is the app of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Southern Germany. The Coptic word Gohm means "book" β€” and that is what eGohm is: the books of the Coptic Orthodox Church, in your pocket, at any time, without an internet connection. THREE LANGUAGES SIDE BY SIDE German, Coptic and Arabic appear in parallel columns β€” verse by verse, paragraph by paragraph. If you follow the service in Coptic and want to read along in German, you no longer have to turn pages. You choose which languages are shown, and in which order. TODAY'S READINGS, AUTOMATICALLY The home screen shows what is read today: Vespers, Matins and the Divine Liturgy readings, with every reference from the Katameros and Synaxarium. Nothing to look up β€” the app knows the Coptic calendar and the liturgical season and assembles the texts accordingly. For another day, just tap the date. THE LIBRARY β€’ Agpeya β€” the book of hours with all canonical hours β€’ Euchologion β€” Vespers and Matins incense, the anaphoras of St Basil, St Gregory and St Cyril, the fraction prayers β€’ Readings β€” Katameros for the entire church year β€’ Psalmody β€” doxologies, hoos, psalies β€’ Sacraments β€” baptism, chrismation, unction of the sick, matrimony, ordination β€’ Feasts and Fasts β€” the propers of the church year, ordered by season β€’ Hymns β€” over 10,000 Arabic taraneem, indexed by first letter, plus special prayers for feasts and occasions LITURGICAL CALENDAR Coptic and Gregorian dating side by side, with feasts, fasts and the turning of the seasons. The eve begins the evening before, as tradition has it β€” you decide from what hour. WHO IS CELEBRATING WITH US Many prayers name the bishops who are present β€” in the printed book there is only a gap. In eGohm you set once who is at the altar today: number, rank, name and the correct form of address are then right throughout the text, in German, Coptic and Arabic at the same time. If no one is present, those passages simply do not appear. BUILT FOR THE SERVICE Projection view sends the text to a projector or screen while you keep navigating on your device. Font size, colour scheme and light or dark mode are a second away β€” even in the middle of a prayer. COMPLETELY OFFLINE Every text ships with the app. No account, no sign-in, no advertising. What you install works in the church basement and on a plane. The interface language can be set to German, Arabic or English independently of the text languages. Several German Bible translations are available. Published by the St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church Frankfurt fir the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Southern Germany.

The Ritual Gem of the Coptic Church (Al-Durra al-αΉ¬aqsiyya Li-l-KanΔ«sa al-QibαΉiyya) is a comprehensive scholarly work originally published in Arabic across fifty-one volumes. This publication presents an in-depth study of the sacramental, liturgical, and devotional life of the Coptic Orthodox Church. The work examines the theology and structure of the sacraments, the liturgical calendar of feasts and fasts, and the historical development of Coptic worship from the first century CE onward. It draws upon the writings of the Church Fathers, primary manuscript traditions, and contemporary national and international academic research on Coptic liturgy. Designed for scholars, clergy, students of theology, and those interested in Oriental and Eastern Christian traditions, this edition provides structured access to one of the most detailed studies of Coptic liturgical theology and history.
