Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: CHiP Drip at 100% against Verizon Cloud's 68%. CHiP Drip also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.4). Verizon Cloud's advantage is ratings volume (143K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
CHiP Drip holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Verizon Cloud has 143K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 68% of Verizon Cloud's written reviews are positive against 100% of CHiP Drip's.
