Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Tool Band at 100% against Heavys's 42%. Tool Band also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). Heavys's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (127 vs 8). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Tool Band holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Heavys has 127 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 42% of Heavys's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tool Band's.
Heavys ships an update every 5 months, Tool Band every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
