Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Carpooll.com at 5.0 against Ride Current's 2.3. Carpooll.com also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Ride Current's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Carpooll.com holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Carpooll.com's written reviews are positive against 80% of Ride Current's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Carpooll.com ships an update every 11 days, Ride Current every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
