Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Poparide at 4.9 against Ride Current's 2.3. Poparide also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (754 vs 3). Ride Current's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 38%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Poparide holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Poparide has 754 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Poparide's written reviews are positive against 80% of Ride Current's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Poparide ships an update every 3 weeks, Ride Current every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
