Defragment

Remember watching the disk defragmenter tidy up, square by square, for far longer than anyone needed to? Defragment brings it back as a calm ambient toy for your iPhone or iPad. A full-screen grid of little squares is analysed row by row, then a handful of scattered fragments light up, move to the front and settle into neat blue rows, over and over, until everything is tidy and a fresh mess arrives. It does nothing useful, and that is the point. Nothing on your device is read or moved. MAKE IT YOURS • Six themes: Midnight, Daylight, Graphite, Classic 98, Phosphor and Amber • Three speeds and three square sizes • Free space: choose how much of the disk is empty, from 20 to 70 % • Endless mode: finished rows disappear, everything moves up a row and new mess arrives from below • Shake the device or double-tap the disk for a new mess A CLOCK IN THE CORNER • Time and date, for the desk or the bedside table • A timer set to the second or to a time of day. At the end it lets you know, brings a new mess, or quietly fades the screen to black and lets the device lock • A stopwatch with hundredths LITTLE THINGS • About 80 rotating quips where the file names used to be, like “Polishing the camera lens” or “Blowing into the floppy drive”. Switch them off for peace and quiet • On iPhone, haptics follow the head: a light tap for one block written, a firm one for five • Keeps the screen awake while it runs • iPhone and iPad, with Split View and Stage Manager • English, Czech, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese DEFRAGMENT PLUS A one-time in-app purchase, no subscription: • Special sectors: bad sectors the head steers around, secret golden clusters that sparkle, lost clusters that are found and put back, and a swap file that breathes • Five more themes: Pastel, Neon, Blueprint, Paper and Pocket • A quip pack of household chores done inside your device There is also an optional tip jar. A tip unlocks nothing; it just says thanks. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no analytics, no ads, no data collected. It works offline.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ArcadeMania at none against Defragment's 4. ArcadeMania also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Defragment's advantage is update cadence (daily vs monthly). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
