Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Shot Timer at 4.1 against iDryfire's 3.7. Shot Timer also leads on ratings volume (457 vs 3) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). iDryfire's advantage is review sentiment (43% vs 22%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iDryfire sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Shot Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Shot Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shot Timer has 457 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of iDryfire's written reviews are positive against 22% of Shot Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
iDryfire ships an update monthly, Shot Timer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
