Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Subscription Manager at 127 against Paylist's 1. Paylist's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 81%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Subscription Manager sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year and Paylist sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Paylist holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Subscription Manager has 127 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 81% of Subscription Manager's written reviews are positive against 100% of Paylist's.
Subscription Manager ships an update weekly, Paylist every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
