Chalk is a homeschool planner and portfolio for families who teach at home. Plan the week, log the day in one tap, keep the work that shows it, and hand in a numbered portfolio at the end of the year. YOUR YEAR AS A SUN Each child has a sun. Every subject is a ray, and each day you log lays chalk on its ray. A dial counts the days or hours your goal asks for, and Chalk tells you how many are left and how many school days a week that takes. In plain words, never in red. TODAY: ONE TAP FOR THE FAMILY Today shows each child's plan. Log a child's day in one tap, or the whole family at once with Pro. Untick what you skipped, add minutes per subject, and open, edit or delete any day later. Mark sick days, days off and breaks ahead of time or after. A PLANNER THAT MOVES WITH YOU Set up a course from a lesson count or a list of titles and choose the days it meets. Chalk puts each lesson on its next class day. Miss a Tuesday and only the courses that meet on Tuesdays move on. Each course shows the day its last lesson lands. DAYS, HOURS AND YOUR OWN WEEK Count days, hours or both, with core hours where your state counts them. Teaching Monday to Thursday, or starting mid-year? Tell Chalk once: it counts your school week, your breaks and the days you taught before you started. EVIDENCE, FILED BY SUBJECT Take a photo of a worksheet, scan a test or add a PDF. Each piece is filed by subject and date, next to books, field trips, assessments and report cards. HAND IT IN One tap turns the year into a numbered, bookmarked PDF: a cover with your child's sun, contents, a parent statement, attendance with a calendar, hours by subject, the log, the reading list, work samples, field trips, assessments with their attached reports, and report cards. The sections come in an order made for your state, and you choose what goes in. STATE INFORMATION, WITH SOURCES For every U.S. state and D.C., Chalk shows a short summary of what the homeschool law asks (days, hours, records, filings), with a link to HSLDA's page for the state, the statute where Chalk read it, and the date it was checked. It is general information, not legal advice: rules depend on the option you use and can change. YOUR RECORDS STAY YOURS Chalk syncs through your own iCloud, so the year is on every iPhone and iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. There is no account to create. Export everything, free: CSV files and every photo in one zip, any time. MORE Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, a Control Center button, Siri and Shortcuts, share cards of your child's year, an iPad layout with a sidebar, and a dark "slate night" look. Chalk's screens are in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian and Japanese. FREE AND PRO Free: a full year for one child, with the planner, one-tap logging, iCloud sync, export, widgets, up to 50 work samples, 20 books and 5 field trips, and a preview of the portfolio with your own numbers. Chalk Pro: the whole family at one price (every child, log for everyone, the family week), the full portfolio PDF with report cards, the attendance calendar and hours by subject, unlimited evidence, and new assessments with test reports and evaluation letters attached. Chalk Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly. The price in your currency is shown in the app before you subscribe. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.
