Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Enroad at 4.8 against Pacenote Maps's 4.0. Enroad also leads on ratings volume (6.7K vs 6) and chart position (#71 vs unranked). Pacenote Maps's advantage is review sentiment (64% vs 23%) and in-app purchases (none vs 20). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Enroad sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Pacenote Maps asks for nothing beyond the download.
Enroad holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Enroad has 6.7K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Pacenote Maps's written reviews are positive against 23% of Enroad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Pacenote Maps ships an update weekly, Enroad every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
