30 day free trial then 99¢ a month or $7.99 a year Build self-esteem with daily affirmations. Includes five basic affirmations plus five personal affirmations you create for your own goals. Affirmations Basic & Personal Almost everyone can benefit from a boost in self-esteem, especially those working toward personal growth or recovery. "Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will." — Zig Ziglar "Before you can change your thinking, you have to change what goes into your mind." — Zig Ziglar Affirmations Basic & Personal provides five simple daily affirmations designed to help strengthen self-esteem and encourage positive thinking. You can also create five Personal Affirmations focused on your own goals, whether you're working toward recovery, quitting smoking, eating healthier, reducing stress, or making other positive life changes. Need ideas? Ask Siri: "Hey Siri, show me some positive affirmations to help me quit drinking... stop smoking... eat healthier..." For best results, read each affirmation aloud five times before moving to the next one. Practice this exercise every day, preferably at the beginning of your day. Whenever negative thoughts begin to take over, open the app and repeat your affirmations. Over time, this simple habit can help replace negative thought patterns with positive ones. Personal growth takes time, patience, and consistent effort. Let this app be one small step on your journey. "Sometimes the thing holding you back is all in your head." Why I Created This App I first learned about affirmations in 1985 while attending a retreat at the Cenacle Retreat House in Warrenville, Illinois. Over the years I discovered that affirmations were an effective way to replace what many in recovery call "stinkin' thinkin'" with positive, constructive thoughts. I originally created this app to help my grandchildren, and anyone else seeking a better life, build confidence and support their recovery journey. I'm grateful to say that affirmations have been an important part of my own sobriety. My last drink was May 30, 1979. If I can do it, you can too. I wish you success, peace, and strength on your journey. Questions, suggestions, or comments? Please email, call or text the Joe Lynn Hotline at 253-JOE-LYNN (253-563-5966). Email: JoeLynn@gmail.com

Nobody hands you a manual for the morning after your breakup. Break Away is a daily affirmations app for the part of the breakup that the breakup books skip. Not the closure montage. The Tuesday. The half-empty closet, the dinner for one you are pretending to enjoy, the strange new quiet of a bed that is finally just yours. Open it for two minutes a day. You will find something honest waiting for you. Some days that is soft. Some days that is petty. Both count. Inside, the affirmations are sorted by where your head actually is: WHAT COMES NEXT — for the future you cannot picture yet, but are walking toward anyway. JUST ME FINALLY — the unexpected pleasure of your own company. MY MONEY MY LIFE — your name on the lease, your call on the thermostat, your decisions to make alone now. WHO AM I NOW? — remembering the version of you that existed before someone else had opinions about her. SHARING THE KIDS — for the handoff weekend, the empty house, and the front door swinging back open. I'M FEELING TOXIC — for the days you are not above it, and frankly do not want to be. DONE BEING SMALL — taking up the room you spent years being told to shrink out of. Seven hundred affirmations in total, written to be read, not chanted. No incense required. Features: Save the lines that land in Favorites A gentle daily reminder, set to your time A streak, if streaks are your thing A short breathing moment for before you read Your first week is free. After that it is a few dollars a month, cancel anytime, no guilt and no exit survey. Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Affirmations Basic & Personal at free against Break Away's subscription. Affirmations Basic & Personal also leads on ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Affirmations Basic & Personal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Break Away sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Affirmations Basic & Personal against 5.0 for Break Away. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Affirmations Basic & Personal has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
