Most fitness apps are filing cabinets. You put the data in, and it sits there. Bright Miles has a coach in it. His name is Miles, and he can see everything — your runs, your lifts, what you ate, your weight, your steps, your sleep, your resting heart rate. Not one slice of it. All of it, in one place, which is the thing no other app can do. TALK TO HIM AND IT IS LOGGED Say "two eggs and toast and a coffee" and it is on your plate, with the calories looked up rather than guessed. Say "benched 185 for 5, 5 and 4" and it is in your strength log with your estimated 1RM. Say "starting my fast" and the timer runs. No searching, no tapping through five screens, no giving up in week two. HE KNOWS IF YOU SLEPT Miles reads your sleep, resting heart rate and HRV against your own baseline, not a chart for the average person. Six hours and a heart rate five beats above your normal, and he will tell you today is a walk. That is the whole point of a coach, and it is what a tracker cannot do. HE HOLDS YOU TO A PLAN Agree a plan with a real number in it and he writes it down. Ask how you are doing and he answers target by target, from what you actually did. He will tell you when you missed, plainly, without shame, and give you one thing to change. AND HE SPEAKS FIRST On a Sunday he sends you your week: what you did, one pattern he noticed connecting two things you would not have joined up yourself, and one specific thing for the week ahead. Every number in it is real or he does not send it. EVERYTHING ELSE IS IN HERE TOO • GPS runs, walks and rides, with splits, elevation and your route • A full strength log with personal bests and muscle recovery • Food logging with a barcode scanner, photo scan and USDA data • Intermittent fasting, with your real eating window • Apple Health and an Apple Watch app • Walk-and-talk: invite a friend, one shared session, one audio room • Good news, a community, and people who are glad you showed up PRIVACY Your health data is never sold, never shared, and never used for advertising. Your journal stays on your device unless you choose to back it up. Deleting your account deletes everything, everywhere. No ad network, no analytics SDK, no tracking. BRIGHT MILES SUBSCRIPTION Miles is included free, with a daily allowance. Subscribe for a much larger one, his real voice, and everything else in the app. Built by one person who wanted a fitness app that actually knew him.

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Bright Miles at every 5 days against Stridely's every 6 weeks. Bright Miles also leads on ratings volume (10 vs 1) and device support (4 vs 2). Stridely's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stridely sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Bright Miles sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Stridely against 5.0 for Bright Miles. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bright Miles has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
Stridely ships an update every 6 weeks, Bright Miles every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
