Get Zone 2 right. Push VO2 Max up — this time on your sport watch. KINETIC Link is the iPhone side of the KINETIC watch app, for sports watches: set your session up on the phone and push it to the watch; while you train, heart rate and zones stream back to a big phone dashboard; when you're done, the full report is on your phone. (On Apple Watch? Look for "KINETIC: Zone 2 · VO2 Max" instead.) KINETIC Link talks to our own KINETIC watch app. It does not control your watch's built-in features. ■ First, install KINETIC on the watch Get the free KINETIC watch app on your sports watch, come back here, pick your watch, and you're linked. ■ Three ways to train Open Session (OPS) No type to pick, no time limit — it runs until you call it, and every second is recorded. Tap once each time you finish a rep and the count is kept for you. Zone 2 (BASE) The watch buzzes when you drop out of your zone, and again when you're back in — no staring at the watch. Aerobic base gets built exactly this way, session after session. VO2 Max Intervals (PEAK) Norwegian 4×4 and the Assault 60-second protocol built in — rounds, work and rest seconds all adjustable. The watch buzzes at every segment change, with a 3-2-1 countdown just before it. ■ Your phone on the floor is the dashboard The clock is the hero; heart rate, calories and time in each zone sit below it. Turn the phone sideways and the numbers get big enough to read from two metres away. ■ Your own ceiling In an open session, cross the heart rate you set and the watch buzzes right away, then every five seconds until you come back down. ■ Zones built from your numbers Max heart rate, heart rate reserve or lactate threshold — with enough data, the most accurate method is picked for you. Got a table from your coach? Enter the five zone percentages yourself. Age, resting and max heart rate can come straight from Apple Health. Push once and the watch remembers — train on your zones even when the phone stays home. ■ Write it up whenever Notes, photos and session detail (movement, sets, reps, weight) — add them to the report any time after you finish. ■ Every session, poster-ready The verdict, your heart-rate curve and time in every zone, laid out on one share card. ■ Your data stays yours No account, no sign-up, no server. Your records stay on your iPhone; ■ About tipping Optional tips inside the app for anyone who wants to support development. Every feature is free — tipping unlocks nothing. Free — no ads, no subscription. Requires an iPhone (iOS 17 or later), a smart watch paired with your iPhone, and the free KINETIC watch app . Supports 64 models. The watch shows Traditional Chinese or English, following your watch language.
