Your step goal. No excuses. StridePal is the no-nonsense step tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch that keeps you moving and out of your own way. Most step apps bury you in data, slow you down, or just get ignored. StridePal cuts through the noise. One goal. One focus. Every day. STAY LOCKED ON YOUR GOAL Always know where you stand and exactly what it takes to finish the day strong. BUILT FOR YOUR WRIST Pick the watch face that fits you: a full progress ring, or your step count in the biggest type we could fit. Swipe for trends and friends, and put those pages in whatever order you like. Your count lives on your watch face too, as a complication. WALK WITH FRIENDS Follow the people who keep you honest. See how their day is going, send a cheer when they crush it, and give everyone a photo and a color so you know who is who at a glance. 7-DAY STEP CHALLENGES Challenge a friend to seven days. Most steps wins. Everyone gets seven full days in their own time zone, and StridePal tells you when your friend's day ends before or after yours. PROGRESS THAT ACTUALLY MOTIVATES Daily and weekly stats that push you forward, not put you to sleep. Streaks, records, weekly totals, and how you stack up against last week, last month, and last year. RUTHLESSLY SIMPLE DESIGN No bloat. No fluff. Just the stuff that keeps you moving. Miles or kilometers, your call. StridePal is free to download and use. Stats and Trends is a one-time unlock, yours to keep. Sharing works like a group plan: one person subscribes and invites the others, and everyone they invite joins at no cost. Every sharing plan includes Stats and Trends for as long as it is active, so there is no reason to buy both. Prices are shown in the app before you buy anything. A subscription renews automatically unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel yours in Settings, Apple Account, Subscriptions. Most fitness apps chase step counts. Physical tracks what actually moves your health: the weekly aerobic minutes and strength days from national physical activity guidelines, personalized to you. Your dashboard shows two simple rings, aerobic and strength, tailored to your age and profile. Every walk, run, and lift you log in Apple Health counts automatically. WHAT YOU GET - Guideline-based targets. Weekly goals from the 2018 U.S. Physical Activity Guidelines, not a generic 10k steps. - Live heart-rate zones. Color-coded intensity on iPhone and Apple Watch, so you know when you are working hard enough. - Workout goals. Aim for a time, calorie, or distance target, with a wrist buzz at the halfway point and the finish. - Start with Siri. Say "Hey Siri, let's get Physical" to begin a workout or a saved routine by voice, plus Shortcuts and Spotlight support. - Start fast. Long-press the app icon for Home Screen quick actions to jump into a run, walk, or strength session. - Outdoor GPS. Live distance, pace, and route mapping for outdoor walks, runs, hikes, and rides on Apple Watch. - Music controls. Play, pause, and skip right from the workout screen, without leaving the app. - Strength logging. Log sessions on iPhone or Apple Watch with muscle-group coverage, and save your own routines. - Widget and complication. Your rings at a glance on the Home Screen and watch face. - Live Activity. Heart rate and intensity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island during a workout. - Share your week. Turn your two rings into an image you can post anywhere. - Export your data. Send your logged workouts to CSV anytime from Settings. - Nothing slips by. Get a heads-up when a workout you logged in another app counts toward your week. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Physical collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no ads, no network calls. Your health data stays in Apple Health, and your saved routines back up to your own iCloud. Nothing is ever sent to us. HOW IT WORKS Set your profile once, then just live your week. Workouts you log in Apple Health count automatically, and Physical shows how close you are with reminders that adapt as your rings fill. Try everything free for 7 days, then continue with a subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock. Verdict
StridePal and Physical both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Physical's written reviews are positive against 71% of StridePal's. Physical also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 weeks) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). StridePal's advantage is ratings volume (51 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StridePal sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Physical sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for StridePal against 5.0 for Physical. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StridePal has 51 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 71% of StridePal's written reviews are positive against 100% of Physical's.
StridePal ships an update every 4 weeks, Physical every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
