Debt Pulse

Debt Pulse tracks the US national debt — live, down to the second. The debt grows by $72,000 every second. The government spends $221,000 every second. Interest alone costs $1.1 trillion a year. These aren't abstract numbers — they represent real money borrowed against your future. LIVE DEBT CLOCK Watch the national debt tick upward in real time. See exactly how much has been added since you opened the app, broken down by interest and war spending. YOUR SHARE See your personal slice of the debt: what you owe as a citizen and what each taxpayer carries. Watch it grow every time you check. SPENDING BREAKDOWN Federal spending, interest on debt, and active military operations — all shown as live dollar-per-second burn rates with animated meters. INFLATION TRACKER See how the dollar has lost purchasing power since 1913. Compare prices then vs. now across housing, gas, groceries, and more. Explore the moments that changed everything: the Fed's creation, Nixon ending the gold standard, QE. STATE-BY-STATE DEBT How much does your state owe? Explore debt per capita, unfunded pension liabilities, and credit ratings for all 50 states. DOLLAR ASSETS Gold, silver, the S&P 500 — how have real assets held their value as the dollar inflated? Track performance since 1971 when Nixon decoupled the dollar from gold. MILITARY SPENDING Active operations, historical wars, and what they actually cost. The numbers are staggering. DebtPulse is designed to make macroeconomic data visceral and personal. No spin, no politics — just the numbers, live. Terms of Use (EULA): https://debtpulse-legal.vercel.app/terms/

Borrowed Time is a live debt clock for people who still get taxes taken out of their paychecks. The number is official — pulled straight from the U.S. Treasury's Debt to the Penny dataset and animated between updates at the pace Treasury actually reported. No estimates pulled from thin air, no drama without a citation. THE BIG BOARD • Total public debt outstanding, ticking live • Debt held by the public and intragovernmental holdings • Your share — per person and per household, from Census figures • The interest burn: what carrying the debt costs this fiscal year, accruing every second • A 90-day trajectory chart of real Treasury records A NEW BACKDROP EVERY DAY The app's look rotates daily through eight original, hand-drawn slices of classic Americana — Route 66 at dusk, a neon roadside diner, a night ballgame, the drive-in, a WPA national-parks poster, Main Street bunting, the space race, and heartland prairie. Same honest number, different view of the country carrying it. AMERICAN VOICES A rotating deck pairs defining words from American history and public life with sourced fiscal, civic, and accountability facts. Each card names the speaker and links separately to the quotation record and the underlying source. WIDGET INCLUDED A home-screen widget with the live number, the daily backdrop, and an American voice of the day. FROM THE AMERICAN ARCHIVE Each month surfaces one public-domain photograph from the national collections — Ansel Adams' Tetons, Lange's Migrant Mother, Earthrise, the March on Washington — with its citation and a link to the holding institution. No account. No tracking. No data collected. Free with no ads; an optional tip jar supports development and unlocks nothing. Just the scoreboard, its sources, and voices from American history.

Verdict
Debt Pulse and Borrowed Time are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Both are free to download. Debt Pulse sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Borrowed Time sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
