Outperform Motion is the video analysis app built for track and field, with Sprint Tools built in. One app for the whole session: film and review the rep, test reaction time, check readiness before the hard work, build a kinogram and space the wickets. Most coaching apps are built for every sport. This one puts as much into the filming as the review: a guided mode for each event sets up the camera so every clip is worth reviewing. GUIDED FILMING FOR EVERY EVENT Filming modes for sprints, block starts, long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put and discus, plus a Standard mode for anything else. Block Start walks you through direction, position, pose and framing, and confirms each step before you record. Prefer the iPhone camera? Import from your camera roll and review the same way. REVIEW • Frame by frame playback • Drawing, lines, arrows and angles • Voiceover on any clip • Side by side with a model or past rep • Pose skeleton and joint angles (Pro) • Stopwatch with splits (Pro) • On-screen measurement (Pro) ATHLETES DO NOT NEED THE APP Send a review and the athlete opens it on a private page in any browser. Your first three steps determine your acceleration. Impulse tells you exactly what's happening in each one. Film your sprint in slow motion and Impulse automatically extracts the mechanics that matter: shin angle at ground contact, ground contact time, and flight time across each step. No lab equipment. No sensors. Just your iPhone. The same data that previously required a university motion capture lab is now in your pocket. THE SCIENCE When your shin is vertical at ground contact, force drives straight down — pushing you up, not forward. A forward shin angle redirects that force vector backward, converting it into horizontal velocity. Shin angle is the single biggest mechanical determinant of how fast you accelerate off the line. WHO IT'S FOR Sprinters, football players, basketball players, or any athlete who needs to be faster in their first few steps. If your first step matters, your mechanics matter. WHAT YOU GET Shin angle at each ground contact across your first three steps Ground contact and flight time per step Speed at each step calculated from your footage Session history to track improvement over time See how your mechanics correlate with your speed across sessions HOW IT WORKS Prop your phone at hip height from the side. Film your first 3-4 steps in slow motion. Impulse processes the footage and delivers a full mechanics breakdown in minutes.
