Blob helps you spend less time on distracting apps and more time living your actual life. Most screen time tools either block apps completely or quietly track the damage afterward. Blob does something different: it adds just enough friction before your most tempting apps to break the autopilot. When you try to open a protected app, Blob makes you pause. You can earn a short unlock pass, or you can walk away and keep your time. That tiny interruption can be the difference between “just checking” and losing another hour. Use Blob to: Reduce mindless scrolling Break the habit of impulsively opening apps Get your mornings, evenings, and focus time back Protect specific apps that steal the most time Track walk-aways, streaks, interceptions, and time saved Make late-night scrolling harder with a Late Night schedule Protect distracting websites in Safari, too Unlock apps temporarily when you actually mean to use them And if basic friction is not enough, Blob can get ridiculous. Turn up the challenge level and face harder math gates, from quick arithmetic to algebra, derivatives, and “why did I do this to myself?” mode. The point is simple: if you still want the app badly enough to solve it, fine. If not, you just got your time back. Blob is not about guilt or punishment. It is about snapping out of autopilot before your attention disappears. Get your time back. Scroll less. Live more. All features above require a subscription. Finish the thing you keep postponing. Foremost holds your distracting apps until the tasks on your own list are done. No timer to wait out, no Ignore button. A timer gives you an empty hour. Foremost gives that hour a job: your apps come back the moment the last task is closed. THE THREE MODES • Foremost — the apps hold until your list is empty. Your list is the key. • Strict Block — the apps hold for the whole window you set, and there is nothing to press. • Limit — each app opens a set number of times a day, for as long as you allow. A block list is the apps you pick, the days it runs and the hours it covers. A window may run through midnight into the next morning. YOUR TASKS STAY WHERE THEY ARE • Todoist — pick a project or a filter. Tick a task off on another device and it counts here too. Once the list is empty, your apps can come back on their own. • Apple Reminders — pick a list. Tick a reminder off anywhere, then open Foremost and it counts again. • Nothing to connect yet? Type your tasks straight into Foremost. WHAT FOREMOST IS NOT Not a screen time tracker: no hour counts, no weekly reports. Not parental controls: it runs on your own phone, over apps you chose yourself. It does not block websites. And it never sees what you do inside an app, only whether your list still has something on it. Blocking is built on Apple's Screen Time APIs, so it holds whether or not Foremost is open, and it survives a restart. Blocking needs Foremost Pro. It comes as a yearly or a monthly plan, and both start with a 7-day free trial. Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Foremost at free with in-app purchases against Blob's subscription. Foremost also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). Blob's advantage is ratings volume (3 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
