1-bit is a private, bit-exact music player for iPhone and iPad. Play your own files from a UPnP/DLNA media server, an SMB share, your own 1-bit-bridge server, a folder on your device, or 1-bit Cloud, a private library we host for you. No analytics, no ads, and no account unless you choose the cloud. SOURCES • UPnP/DLNA media servers on your Wi-Fi: NAS, MiniDLNA, Plex, a Chord 2Go. Found automatically, streamed bit-exact, DSD included. • SMB shares on your home network. • 1-bit-bridge, a free, open-source (MIT) server you run on Mac, Linux, Pi or Windows. Pinned HTTPS, tap-to-pair by Bonjour or QR. • 1-bit Cloud: the same bridge, run by us. Sign in with Apple, upload from any computer, and it appears in Sources. 20 GB free. Strictly private, downloadable bit-exact, deletable in one step. • Any folder on your device or an external drive, picked in Files, nothing copied. Download for offline play. • No server yet? Add the read-only demo library in one tap. AUDIO • Bit-exact PCM (FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, MP3, M4A) up to the limits of your DAC. • Bit-exact DSD over DoP for DSF and DSDIFF, up to DSD256, with a USB DAC that reports DoP lock (Chord, iFi, Topping, Mytek and others). • DSD on any output: AirPods, AirPlay, CarPlay and the speaker play DSD converted to PCM on the phone and labeled as such. A wired DAC still gets the untouched path. • SACD .iso rips open into per-track rows; DST-compressed DSDIFF decodes as it plays. • Gapless when adjacent tracks match. Per-DAC tuning, anti-click rate switching and thermal-aware buffering keep DSD256 smooth. • Spatial audio (beta): a binaural renderer with head tracking on supported AirPods. PCM only. • Large FLAC, WAV and AIFF files can start while they download (optional). LYRICS • Synced lyrics that follow the music line by line, from the file's tags, a sidecar, your bridge, or an online source you switch on yourself. Tap the artwork on Now Playing. SEE WHAT YOU HEAR • Signal Path shows what actually reached your DAC, with an optional live spectrum and true-peak analyzer. • Whole-track analysis answers "is this really hi-res?"; a bridge adds dynamic range, key, tempo and a FLAC checksum that flags an altered file. • Profile my DAC: guided measurements you can send in so your hardware gets supported properly. VOICE, SIRI & CARPLAY • "Hey Siri, play [album, artist, playlist, or genre] on 1-bit". Shortcuts and Spotlight too. • CarPlay: Recently Added and Played, Artists, Albums, Playlists, Favorites and Downloads, A to Z indexed, with voice search and Shuffle. Its browser lists PCM; DSD started from the phone plays converted. HOME MIXES (WITH A BRIDGE) • Your bridge builds mixes from your listening: Heavy Rotation, Daily Mix, On Repeat, Favorites and more; they can cache overnight for offline play. OUTPUT • Play through a USB DAC, AirPods, AirPlay 2 or the speaker, or cast to a DLNA renderer such as a Chord 2Go. LIBRARY • Fast enough for 50,000+ tracks across every source; the first scan carries on overnight while charging. • Browse by artist, album, composer, genre, folder, playlist or a flat Tracks list, with an "Appears On" section. Search everything, filter by source. • Heart tracks and albums; Favorites can follow you across devices with a bridge. PLAYER • A redesigned Now Playing with a waveform scrubber; the floating player arrives on iPad. • Resume where you left off. Home Screen widget, Lock Screen and Control Center transport, sleep timer, optional crossfeed. BRIDGE EXTRAS • Upscaling and DSD-to-PCM renditions made on your own hardware, the original always one tap away. • Atlas notes and better cover art; backup of playlists, favorites and playback history to your own bridge. All off by default on a bridge you run. PRIVACY • No analytics, no tracking, no ads. Optional lookups are off by default; passwords and tokens live in the iOS Keychain. The only server of ours that holds anything is 1-bit Cloud, and only if you create a library. Requires iOS 26.1 or later.

Nyquist is a native, file-first music player for audiophiles who keep large local libraries on SSDs, external drives, and NAS shares. It is not a streaming app — it is a fast, precise playback tool built for people who care about sample rates, bit depth, and an honest signal path. WHY NYQUIST • Bit-perfect intent — On macOS, Nyquist matches your DAC's hardware sample rate to each file (44.1 → 88.2/176.4, 48 → 96/192) and waits for the clock to re-lock so CoreAudio performs no resampling. No cross-family conversions are ever forced on your music. • True gapless playback — Sample-accurate transitions between tracks of the same format, so albums by Pink Floyd, Tool, Daft Punk, live sets, and classical recordings flow without a single gap. • Network play — Discover UPnP/DLNA receivers on your network (Denon, HEOS, and friends) and stream the original file straight to them, with gapless hand-off on receivers that support it. Network devices sit right next to your DACs in the output picker. • Track analysis — A built-in lab for every file: a whole-track waveform with peak, RMS, and dynamic-range readouts; EBU R128 / BS.1770 integrated loudness with ReplayGain; a long-term spectrum that exposes upsampled "hi-res" and lossy-sourced "lossless" files; a full spectrogram; plus live spectrum, level meters, and a stereo goniometer — each with a plain-language verdict. • On-device search — A private, persistent index of your saved locations, with filters by file type and metadata field (title, artist, album, genre, composer, label, year, format). Nothing leaves your device. • Built for huge libraries — Folder-first browsing that behaves like a high-performance file browser, not a slow database. Lazy-loaded discovery means no full-library scan before you can press play, even across 50,000+ tracks. A topology view classifies your folders into artists, albums, EPs, singles, live sets, compilations, box sets, and discs. • NAS-aware — Add SMB shares directly or through the Files app. Remote tracks start instantly while a background copy makes seeks immediate, and the next track is prefetched for seamless rotation. • Playlists — Organize your music into groups and playlists saved as portable .m3u8 files in a folder you choose. Point every device at the same folder — including a NAS share added through the Files app — and your playlists stay in sync across Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Build them from tracks, whole folders, or the current queue, then reorder and edit them anywhere. • Background playback — On iPhone and iPad, playback keeps going when you lock the screen or switch apps, with working lock-screen and Control Center transport — including while streaming to a network receiver. • Flexible volume — On iPhone and iPad the slider follows your device's system volume; on macOS, choose software gain, your DAC's own hardware volume (bit-perfect at any level), or a fixed 100% for maximum purity. An optional limiter caps the level across every output — even against the hardware volume buttons — to prevent accidental loud jumps. • Exclusive (hog) mode — Optionally take exclusive ownership of your DAC during playback on macOS. • Flexible output routing — On macOS, choose the exact CoreAudio output device (USB DAC, built-in, and more); your choice is remembered across launches. On iPhone and iPad, send audio to AirPlay, Bluetooth, or wired outputs with the system route picker. • Deep technical transparency — Inspect format, sample rate, bit depth (with FLAC/ALAC recovery), channel count, codec, and a live signal-path view showing source rate, output rate, and bit-perfect / resampling / exclusive status. • Memory-friendly — Tracks are streamed from disk frame-by-frame, never decoded whole into RAM, so even 24/192 material stays light on resources. SUPPORTED FORMATS FLAC, ALAC, MP3, AIFF, WAV, and AAC today. The engine is format-agnostic, with DSD and SACD ISO planned.
