Beat last time, every set. Gym Commitment is a workout log for people who lift. Your sets open with last time's numbers, so you know what to beat. Then watch every lift climb, week after week. Start a session, tick your sets, finish. Free to start, and no account needed. IN THE GYM • Tick a set and your rest timer starts, in the app and on your lock screen • After a few sessions of a lift, a new best gets a trophy on the set that beat it • Warm up, drop and failure sets, and supersets • 1,872 exercises, almost all with a form clip you can watch mid workout, plus the muscles each one works • Exercises as pictures: tap one to add it, or switch to a list • No routine? Tap Start and add exercises as you go • Filter by muscle, equipment, or what your gym has • Gym Time reminders on the days you pick, so the habit sticks A ROUTINE, YOUR WAY • 34 routines built from research, with a free one for every situation: full body, upper lower, push pull legs, dumbbells only, machines only, home with no kit, 30 minutes, over 40, glutes, fat loss, cardio base • Build your own, day by day, exercise by exercise • A friend or trainer builds one and sends you a link A PLAN FROM YOUR OWN AI It asks before it plans. Connect your own Claude or ChatGPT once, with a code from the app (Claude's free plan works; ChatGPT needs Plus). It asks about your goals one question at a time, writes the plan with you, and sends it to your phone. Open it, see the sets by muscle on a body, save it, follow it. We don't keep your chat. We keep only the finished plan, so it can reach your phone. WHAT YOU SEE AFTER • Sets by muscle on a body figure, for any routine before you start and for your week so far • Every lift on a graph, with personal records • Weekly, monthly and yearly reports that call out the body parts you skipped • A weight log, with your weigh-ins from Apple Health once you switch that on in Settings • Progress photos kept with the session they came from ON YOUR WRIST • With your iPhone nearby, start your next routine day from your Apple Watch, or choose another day or Freestyle • Tick sets, run the rest timer, move to the next exercise and see your time in the gym • Finish from your wrist, and feel a buzz when you beat a personal best • Sets you tick on the wrist are saved on your phone YOUR DATA • No account needed. Your workout log stays on your phone. • Log every set with no signal. Form clips and AI plans need a connection. • Export every session and set as a CSV, free, whenever you want • In English, Spanish and Portuguese, following your phone's language or your pick in Settings. Spanish and Portuguese are translated with AI. FREE, AND PRO • Free: logging, the rest timer, every exercise and clip, the Apple Watch app, a free routine for every situation and one plan of your own (built by you, your AI or a friend) • Pro adds: every earlier week, month and year, every lift's progress back to day one, every photo, all 34 routines, deeper insights with Advanced Mode, as many plans of your own as you like, and backup to your own iCloud Questions or ideas: gymcommitmentapp@gmail.com Privacy: https://gymcommitment.com/privacy Terms: https://gymcommitment.com/terms Claude is a trademark of Anthropic, and ChatGPT of OpenAI. One number every morning: how recovered you are, from 0 to 100. Push reads the night your watch already recorded and works the whole thing out on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded. Every feature is free. WHY ONE NUMBER Most apps hand you a wall of charts and leave the reading to you. Push does the reading. Overnight heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, breathing rate and blood oxygen go in, all of it read from the Health app, none of it measured by Push itself, and one score with one word comes out: Reset, Ease In, Steady or Primed, plus a line or two on why. Then it shows its working. Open the score and you get every signal that moved it, which way it went, and how many points it was worth. Nothing is a black box. COMPARED TO YOU, NOT TO A POPULATION Every signal is judged against your own rolling 14-night baseline, never against an average of strangers. A 40 ms HRV night is an ordinary night for one person and a poor one for another, and only your own history knows which. Push waits seven nights before showing a first score, because a baseline built from three nights produces a confident-looking number that means nothing. If a signal is missing, your watch has no blood oxygen sensor, or a sensor simply did not fire, its weight is shared out across the signals you do have. It is never counted as a zero. THE DAY, NOT JUST THE MORNING Your morning score is a ceiling. As you train, Push works out the load from your workouts with the published Bannister TRIMP formula and eases the score down, measured against your own ordinary day, so a rest day costs you nothing at all. WHAT ELSE IS IN THERE • Sleep: duration, efficiency, stages and timing, each against your own nights, with an optional sleep goal of your own • Strain: today's training load, and how it sits against your normal • Stress: a day curve derived from heart rate and HRV. A wellness signal, not a measurement • Biological Age: an estimate from cardio fitness, heart rate, sleep and walking speed. An estimate, never a clinical result • Vitals: thirty-odd further metrics from the Health app, charted and explained • Calendar: every scored day drawn as its own arc, and this week against last • Coach: ask questions about your own data. It runs on your device; nothing is sent anywhere • Watch app and complication: the score on your wrist • Two optional daily reminders, both off until you turn them on THE WHOLE METHOD IS IN THE APP Under You › How It Works, Push publishes the entire method: every input, every weight, the baseline window, the seven-night rule, the anchoring, both Bannister coefficients and the Tanaka maximum-heart-rate constants. Those screens are generated from the code itself, so they cannot drift from what the app actually does. PRIVACY There is no networking code in Push at all. No account, no sign-in, no server, no analytics, no advertising identifier, no third-party libraries of any kind. Your health data is read from the Health app, used on your iPhone, and stays there. Push never writes anything back into the Health app, and nothing is stored in iCloud. FREE, WITH ONE HONEST EXCEPTION Every feature is free. No subscription, no trial, no ads, nothing locked. There is an optional tip jar if you'd like to support development. A tip unlocks nothing, and Push works identically without one. No account either. Push never asks who you are. WHAT YOU NEED An iPhone running iOS 18 or later, and an Apple Watch Series 4 or later worn overnight with sleep tracking on. Turning on Sleep Focus also lets the watch record wrist temperature, which Push shows from your first night. Push is a general wellness feature, not a substitute for professional medical judgment, and does not account for existing conditions or medications. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Push at none against Gym Commitment's 3. Push also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs every 4 days). Gym Commitment's advantage is ratings volume (27 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Gym Commitment sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Push asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Gym Commitment against 5.0 for Push. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gym Commitment has 27 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Gym Commitment ships an update every 4 days, Push daily. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
