For gamers that care about their inputs. Connect a pad, stick, or leverless and see exactly what iOS is reading from it. Every button, every analog stick position, every trigger value, in real time. Run the drift monitor before a session to catch a stick that's misbehaving. Pop open the raw input dump when something feels off and you want the actual numbers your controller is sending to the system. The built-in reaction test reports results in both milliseconds and frames โ€” the standard measurement unit for fighting games that run at 60 FPS. Use it to benchmark your reaction or to compare response times between different controllers or buttons. On ProMotion displays (iPad Pro, iPhone 13 Pro and later) the app samples inputs at up to 120 Hz, so the measurement itself runs as fast as the hardware allows. Frame values still display against the 60 fps fighting-game standard so they're comparable across devices. Button labels match what's actually on your controller. Plug in a DualShock or DualSense and you'll see ร—, โ—‹, โ–ก, โ–ณ. Plug in a Switch Pro Controller and you'll see A, B, X, Y in their real Nintendo positions. Xbox and generic pads stay with A, B, X, Y. No more squinting at "Button 12" wondering which physical button it maps to. Tested controllers include the PlayStation DualSense, DualSense Edge, and DualShock 4; the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller; the 8BitDo Ultimate (2.4G); and generic Xinput and Bluetooth gamepads. Anything iOS recognizes as an Extended Gamepad through Apple's GameController framework will work. Keyboards and mice are supported too. When no controller is connected, the buttons panel surfaces live key presses and mouse-button states โ€” useful for arcade controllers, fightsticks, and boards that pair as a keyboard rather than as a gamepad. Note that some controller will swap the left analog stick and the D-pad. If you see this, tap the Lโ†”D toggle above the on-screen D-pad to swap them back. iPhone users typically don't see this. If a controller doesn't show up automatically, try a wired USB connection. iOS often recognizes over USB what fails over Bluetooth. If your controller has a mode switch (most FGC boards do), try Nintendo Switch, PC, or XInput mode; those modes have the highest compatibility with iOS. Not compatible with Brook Wingman FGC or FGC 2. App is fully offline, ad-free, and does not collect data.

About

PadVitals

See what your connected game controller is doing, right now. PadVitals shows the buttons, sticks, triggers, rumble and sensors of a controller connected to your iPhone / iPad in real time, and measures stick drift and circularity as numbers. Note: this app does not diagnose or certify the controller hardware itself. It measures and visualizes the input data that iOS received on this device. โ–  Try it before you connect anything - No compatible controller at hand? Demo mode walks through every screen โ€” button lights, stick trails, each diagnosis and the report โ€” so you can see what the app does right away - The values shown in demo mode are fictional (they are not measurements from a real device) โ–  Real-time view - Pressed buttons light up on a schematic, and stick movement leaves a glowing trail - Raw stick / trigger values, motion (gyroscope and accelerometer) and battery level, all in one list - Values standing still is normal. GameController delivers input only when something changes โ–  A guided diagnosis - Drift ... how far the center wanders once you take your fingers off - Circularity ... spin the stick around once, and the reach at each angle is compared - Input event delivery rate / jitter ... the effective rate of the input that reached the app, and how steady the intervals are (measured on iOS) - Trigger slack ... where the response starts - Rumble and core button response checks The input event delivery rate is not the polling rate of the controller itself. It is the input that reached the app, shaped by the Bluetooth connection interval and by scheduling on the iOS side. โ–  Follow the wear over time - Results are kept on the device per controller, so the numbers show how things are trending โ–  A report you can share - The result fits on a single image, ready to post โ–  Supported controllers - DualSense / DualSense Edge / DualShock 4 - Xbox Wireless / Elite Series 2 - MFi controllers - Apple has not stated support for Nintendo Switch Pro / Joy-Con, so those may or may not work โ–  Pricing - Free to use, with ads kept modest - Ad removal is a one-time purchase (non-consumable), not a monthly subscription. Purchases can be restored from Settings โ–  Privacy and terms - Diagnosis results and history are stored on this device only. Diagnostic data is never sent to an external server - Privacy policy: https://padvitals-lab.web.app/en/privacy - Terms of use (Apple standard EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Requires iOS 17 or later.
