FALSE MEMORY vs Ten Band EQ
Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
FALSE MEMORY
This app transforms any sound into a decaying audio effect, simulating tape degradation or digital corruption. Explore various destruction parameters to create unique sonic textures and atmospheres. It can also evolve the sound automatically over time.
- Real-time audio disintegration
- Analog/Digital destruction engine
- Pitch and timing destabilization
- Frequency spectrum smearing
- Past audio bleed-through
- Automatic evolution over time
- Randomize parameters

FALSE MEMORY is a real-time audio disintegration effect. Feed it any sound and watch it decay. A tape left in the sun. A corrupted file half-recovered from a dead drive. A memory dissolving as you try to hold onto it. Turn up MEMORY and the destruction begins. Everything else shapes how the sound falls apart. DESTRUCTION ENGINE The Analog / Digital slider is the soul of the effect. Slide left for warm, organic decay: Cassette wobble, Reel-to-reel saturation, VHS tracking errors. Slide right for cold, precise corruption: Lo-fi aliasing, Circuit-bent glitches, Data-mosh block artifacts. Drift destabilizes pitch and timing. At low settings it breathes. Cranked up, the signal loses its grip on reality. Damage controls how aggressively the signal gets torn apart. ATMOSPHERE Fog smears the frequency spectrum into clouds. Three modes: Tonal keeps harmonic structure intact, Inharmonic scatters it, Evolving slowly morphs between the two. Ghosts lets past audio bleed through the current signal. Echoes repeat rhythmically. Imprints leave residual traces. Granular scatters fragments across time. TEXTURE Hiss adds tape noise, from subtle warmth to a roaring floor. Crackle introduces vinyl pops and surface damage. SET IT AND FORGET IT Evolve lets the destruction deepen automatically over time. Pick a duration from 1 to 64 minutes. Walk away. Come back to something completely different. The Randomize button rerolls all destruction parameters instantly. Hit it until something clicks. AUv3 plugin for iOS. Runs in AUM, GarageBand, Logic, and any AUv3 host. Standalone app for iPhone and iPad. From All The Machines.
Ten Band EQ

Ten Band EQ is a professional 10-band graphic equalizer built as an AUv3 plugin, ready to use in GarageBand, AUM, Cubasis, and any other Audio Unit host on iOS. Designed with acoustic guitar in mind — and musical on everything else — Ten Band EQ gives you clean, precise tone shaping without complexity getting in the way. TEN BANDS Ten ISO-standard octave bands from 31 Hz to 16 kHz, each with ±12 dB of cut or boost. Grab a slider, shape your tone, hear the result immediately. Bands 1–9 use proportional Q: gentle at small moves, focused at full boost or cut — the classic graphic EQ feel that stays musical no matter how hard you push it. Band 10 at 16 kHz is a high-shelf, not a peak, so your "air" band always sounds like air. FILTERS A sweepable high-pass filter (18 dB/oct, 30–200 Hz) rolls out unwanted rumble and low-end mud before it ever reaches the bands. A sweepable low-pass filter (12 dB/oct, 4–20 kHz) tames harshness at the top. Both filters sit at the edges of the audio spectrum by default — always in the signal chain, never in your way unless you need them. OUTPUT TRIM Stack a few bands of boost and levels add up fast. The ±12 dB output trim brings your signal back under control without any extra gain stages or metering to manage. Q MODES Variable Q (the default) gives you the proportional "musical" response described above. Switch to Fixed Q for a tighter, more surgical MXR-style response — great for notching problem frequencies or adding hard shelf boosts. BYPASS One toggle switches between IN and BYPASS. The red indicator makes bypass state obvious at a glance. AUv3 Ten Band EQ is an Audio Unit v3 plugin. Load it as an effect in GarageBand, AUM, Cubasis, ApeMatrix, or any AUv3-compatible host. It also runs as a standalone app for quick listening sessions or to register the plugin with iOS. WORKS ON iPhone and iPad (iOS 14+)
