Reti Interval Timer
Read full descriptionHide full description
Reti is an interval timer that calls the rounds over your music instead of cutting it, and puts the clock on a TV so a whole room can run from one phone. SIX WAYS TO RUN A CLOCK Intervals, Tabata, EMOM, AMRAP, For Time and a lap Stopwatch. Four timers are ready on the first screen — Tabata 20/10 × 8, 45/15 × 10, EMOM × 10 and AMRAP 12:00 — and five preset workouts are built from a 40-movement bodyweight library: legs, core, upper body, cardio and static holds. No equipment. CUES OVER YOUR MUSIC A rising pair for work, a falling pair for rest, a 3-2-1 before each change — mixed in over whatever you're playing, so you know the phase without a glance and your podcast keeps going. Silent mode buzzes instead and keeps the screen on. ON THE TV AirPlay or a cable puts a ten-foot readout on the big screen: the phase fills the whole screen in color, the digits are sized for the back of the room, and the phone in your pocket keeps running the class. HANDS-OFF WHILE IT RUNS The whole screen is the button — tap anywhere to pause. Stop lives behind pause, so a sweaty thumb can't end a session by accident. Coach-mode rests wait for you to say GO, so a rest lasts as long as the load on the bar needs. Siri runs it too: "Hey Siri, start my workout in Reti," pause, resume, stop, skip — no setup. The lock screen and Dynamic Island show the phase, the digits and the round, with pause and resume without unlocking. A PLAN THAT FITS YOUR WEEK Coach, part of Reti Pro, asks five questions: what you're after, how many days, what you've got to train with, anything to work around, and whether there's a date. Then it builds a block, eight weeks or four to twelve if you're working to a date. Each session lands on Home ready to run. Rate how a session went and the weeks ahead can adjust. Away from your gym for a week? Change your equipment in Settings: this week and the rest of the plan follow, and the weeks you've done stay as they were. Reset the plan any time. Your Log stays. A LOG THAT COUNTS WORK Work time only — rest, get-ready and pauses aren't counted. Sessions and your day streak. Export everything as JSON. Delete everything in two taps. FREE, AND RETI PRO Free keeps every mode, every cue, the TV, Siri, three saved custom timers and 30 days of history — forever. Reti Pro adds Coach, 50 saved custom timers and your whole history. It is a yearly subscription with a one-week free trial, and it renews each year until you cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Built for the largest accessibility text sizes and VoiceOver. No account. No ads. Nothing leaves your phone. RideTracker turns what your Apple Watch or iPhone feels into a record of how you actually rode. Start the ride on your Watch and put your phone away — or record directly on your iPhone. RideTracker records motion throughout the session, then analyzes it afterward — no timers to start, no gaits to tag, nothing to remember mid-ride. WHAT IT WORKS OUT • Gaits — halt, walk, trot and canter, detected from the horse's rhythm, with the share of the ride spent in each • Transitions — every gait change, counted and placed on the timeline • Cadence — strides per minute at trot and canter • Heart rate — yours, through the ride and broken down by gait (with Apple Watch) • Distance and route — the full GPS track, colored by the gait you were in • Calories — active energy for the session REPLAY THE RIDE Scrub the whole ride on the map, or play it back at up to 32x. Color the track by gait, speed or heart rate, and narrow the window to any stretch of it — the distance, average speed and heart rate update to match what you selected. HEART RATE BY GAIT See your heart rate plotted directly against what your horse was doing. Track average heart rate for walk, trot and canter, check how fast you recover in the first minute of walk after each effort, and view your time in each personalized zone. Mark sections on your Watch (or create sections on your phone after the workout) to isolate and compare specific parts of your ride. PHONE RECORDING (PREVIEW) No Apple Watch? Record directly on your iPhone. Clip your phone to your belt at the back of your hip, and RideTracker detects your gaits, cadence, live speed, distance and route. Save the session as your primary workout in Apple Health, or use it as a backup to your Watch. EVERY HORSE SEPARATELY Assign each ride to a horse. Ride counts, saddle time and trends are kept per horse, so a schoolmaster and a green four-year-old never get averaged into one meaningless line. TRENDS Twelve weeks at a glance, compared six weeks against six: rides, saddle time, average heart rate, trot cadence, canter share and transitions per ride — overall and for each horse. ASK YOUR RIDES Curious who you cantered most this month, or what your hardest session was? Ask in plain English — typed or hands-free with your voice — and get instant answers calculated straight from your ride logs. ACHIEVEMENTS Milestones for hours in the saddle, rides logged, distance covered, time at trot and canter, and riding partners. Earned by riding, not by opening the app. APPLE HEALTH Rides are written to Health as equestrian workouts, with heart rate and active energy. Health is optional — every ride carries its own totals, so duration, heart rate and calories are there whether you grant access or not. RIDETRACKER+ Everything above is free, for every ride, forever. Recording, analysis, gaits, cadence, GPS, Health and achievements are never limited, and no ride is ever deleted or degraded. RideTracker+ unlocks reading your history beyond the last 30 days, Trends across the full window, and Ask Your Rides. Your older rides stay on your device either way — subscribing brings them back into view immediately. REQUIREMENTS Apple Watch recommended for hands-free recording and heart rate. Rides can also be recorded directly on iPhone in preview mode (clip phone to your belt at the back of your hip). iPhone alone can read and analyze all recorded rides. Verdict
Reti Interval Timer and RideTracker are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Reti Interval Timer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per year and RideTracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
