Plateline is a strength training tracker built around one idea: logging a set should take one tap. Finish a set, tap once, and the weight and reps you did last time are already there. The rest timer starts itself. Your next target is on the row in front of you, so you never have to remember what beating last week means. LOG ANYTHING YOU ACTUALLY DO A catalog of 136 movements ships with the app, and each one collects only the fields it needs. A barbell lift takes weight and reps. A plank takes a duration. A rowing machine takes distance and time. Assisted work takes a negative load. Add your own movements when the catalog misses one. FROM THE LOCK SCREEN A live session puts the current set on your Lock Screen. Complete it there, without unlocking the phone and without breaking your rhythm between sets. ROUTINES, NOT PAPERWORK Build a routine once and start from it. Edit the day as it actually went, afterwards, in History. Nothing is frozen once it is written. PROGRESS YOU CAN READ Volume, working sets and estimated one rep max per movement, drawn from the sets you logged. The estimate stops above twelve reps rather than print a number that would bend the trend line, because the Epley formula is fitted to low rep work. BUILT FOR THE GYM Dark by default, so it does not blind you at 6am. Portrait only, one handed, with a keypad sized for the phone you are holding. Haptics confirm a tap you cannot look at. Undo is always one tap away. YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR IPHONE There is no account, no server of ours, no analytics and no advertising. We cannot see what you lift, because none of it ever leaves your device. FREE AND PRO The free plan covers two completed workouts a calendar week and two saved routines, with the full catalog, history and progress. Delete a workout or a routine and its slot is free again. Everything you have already logged stays readable and editable whether or not you subscribe. Plateline Pro removes both limits: 3.99 USD a month, or 29.99 USD a year. A one time Lifetime unlock is offered as well, at the price shown on the paywall. Prices vary by storefront. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period. Manage or cancel a subscription in the App Store settings of your Apple Account. Sound Cue is a custom interval timer for workouts that need more than a last-second beep. Place spoken countdowns or beep cues exactly where you need them—early enough to prepare, change equipment, reset, or breathe before the next effort. BUILD EACH PART OF YOUR WORKOUT Choose how many timed work intervals (reps) and sets you want, then time Get Ready, Work, Rest, and Between Sets independently. Build a simple round timer or use Sound Cue for HIIT, Tabata, boxing, circuits, mobility, cardio, climbing, and more. PLACE CUES WHERE YOU NEED THEM Add up to five sound cues to each workout part: Get Ready, Work, Rest, or Between Sets. For each cue, choose a beep or spoken number. Each cue can play once, every second as a countdown, or on a custom repeating schedule. Set when it begins and whether repeating cues stop after a chosen count or continue until that workout part ends. FOLLOW ALONG BY SOUND Start the timer and stay focused on your workout. Phase announcements and scheduled cues tell you when to work, rest, and reset without checking the screen. STAY IN THE FLOW • Track time remaining, the current set and rep, completion percentage, and the next interval at a glance. • Choose beep or voice alerts—or turn them off—for interval changes and workout completion. • Adjust sound volume, turn haptic feedback on or off, and choose whether cues briefly lower music or other audio. • Hear scheduled cues while your iPhone is locked or while using another app. SAVE AND ORGANIZE WORKOUTS The free library starts with three included workouts and holds up to five saved workouts in total. Rename, reorder, edit, and reuse them. Use named groups to keep related workouts together and easy to find. A one-time in-app purchase expands the limit to 100 saved workouts. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Sound Cue has no ads, analytics, or tracking. Workouts, cues, and preferences are stored locally and are not transmitted by Sound Cue. Build your intervals, press Start, and let Sound Cue keep you moving.

Verdict

The call

Plateline and Interval Timer are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
