Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: gTalk PBX at 100% against Ooma Office's 50%. gTalk PBX also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (12.3 vs 17.0). Ooma Office's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 2.5) and ratings volume (9.5K vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Ooma Office holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ooma Office has 9.5K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of gTalk PBX's written reviews are positive against 50% of Ooma Office's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
gTalk PBX ships an update every 3 weeks, Ooma Office every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
