About

Rasm

Features

Rasm teaches exactly one skill: reading Arabic script out loud. Not the language. You will not learn what the words mean, and that is on purpose β€” decoding the script is a separate skill, and it is the one most people never get around to. IT TEACHES THE SHAPES, NOT THE ALPHABET SONG Arabic letters change form depending on where they sit in a word, so the thing you actually have to know is the pair: this letter, in this position. All 34 letters across their 115 positional forms, grouped by the shapes they share rather than by alphabetical order. IT KNOWS WHAT KIND OF MISTAKE YOU MADE Most letters differ only by dots. When you misread one, Rasm can tell you that you read two dots above where there was one below β€” and it shows you, by lifting the wrong dots off and leaving the bare skeleton on screen for half a second before the right ones land. IT WEANS YOU OFF THE VOWEL MARKS Beginner material is written with harakat; real text is not. Rasm fades them per shape, on a schedule, until you are reading what is actually printed. IT SCHEDULES THE PRACTICE FOR YOU A proven spaced-repetition algorithm (FSRS) decides what comes back and when, from how you actually answer β€” never from asking you to rate yourself. Five to ten minutes a day. No advertising, no account, no tracking of any kind. Nothing leaves your phone, and it works with the network switched off.

About

Khatt

Features

Khatt teaches you to write Arabic by hand, one stroke at a time. Short lessons take you from alif to hamza: watch each letter being written, trace it, copy it, then write it from memory, while Khatt checks your writing the way a teacher would. LEARN STEP BY STEP β€’ A path of short lessons with XP, a daily goal and streaks. β€’ All 36 letters: the 28 letters, hamza and its seats, tā' marbΕ«αΉa and alif maqαΉ£Ε«ra, in every positional form. β€’ Quick games between writing exercises: pick the letter, tap what you hear, match the pairs. β€’ Spaced repetition brings letters back just before you would forget them. FEEDBACK ON EVERY STROKE β€’ Stroke order, direction, missing dots, proportions and stray ink are all checked. β€’ After each check your ink slides onto the model, so you see exactly where you went wrong. β€’ Place dots with a single tap. WRITE HADITH β€’ 22 short, authentic hadith to write word by word. The page glides along the line, so even a long sentence is easy. β€’ Finish with a levha in your own handwriting. β€’ Every hadith is checked against two copies of the Sunnah.com collection and shown with its reference, grade and published English translation. MADE FOR IPHONE AND IPAD β€’ A manuscript-inspired design with the sound of a reed pen on paper. β€’ With Apple Pencil: pressure-sensitive ink, palm rejection and double-tap to undo. β€’ Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and an optional daily reminder. IN YOUR LANGUAGE Khatt is available in English, Arabic, Turkish, Indonesian, Malay, Urdu, Persian, Bengali and French. Hadith meanings are shown in their published English translation. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Khatt works fully offline. There is no account, no ads and no tracking, and your progress stays on your device. Letter shapes are from the Noto Naskh Arabic typeface (SIL Open Font License).
