Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: nCase at 100% against Oral's 35%. nCase also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and device support (3 vs 1). Oral's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (202K vs 10). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Oral holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Oral has 202K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Oral's written reviews are positive against 100% of nCase's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Oral ships an update every 6 weeks, nCase every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
