Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Megaplex Mobile at none against RiffRoc's 3. Megaplex Mobile also leads on ratings volume (12K vs 1). RiffRoc's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 6 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RiffRoc sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Megaplex Mobile asks for nothing beyond the download.
RiffRoc holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Megaplex Mobile has 12K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Megaplex Mobile ships an update every 6 months, RiffRoc every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
