Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: RTM at none against Kombo's shown. RTM also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Kombo's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 27%) and ratings volume (81 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
RTM holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kombo has 81 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of RTM's written reviews are positive against 60% of Kombo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
RTM ships an update monthly, Kombo every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
