Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Flock at 46% against PIMSY's 0%. Flock also leads on ratings volume (101 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). PIMSY's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PIMSY holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flock has 101 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Flock's written reviews are positive against 0% of PIMSY's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Flock ships an update every 2 weeks, PIMSY every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
