This app focuses on exercising using resistance bands and includes other creative bodyweight exercises. Resistance bands offer many advantages other than being extremely portable and convenient. The mechanical advantage of these bands is that resistance is held through every part of the movement - compared to free weights that often do not stimulate the muscle during certain parts of the motion. About

BuildUp

Features

You don't need a gym to get strong. BuildUp is a strength training tracker built for people who work out at home — whether you've got a full setup or just a pair of dumbbells and a backpack full of books. What makes it different: Tell the app what equipment you own — dumbbells, resistance bands, a pull-up bar, even household items like water jugs and towels — and it builds a complete training program around what you actually have. No guessing, no substituting exercises mid-workout. Features: • 130+ exercises with instructions, organized by muscle group and equipment • Smart workout generator that creates multi-day programs based on your gear • Track sets, reps, weight, and reps in reserve for every exercise • Rest timer between sets with visual countdown • Next-session targets: the app suggests the weight and reps to aim for, and offers a heavier weight when you've earned it. You decide whether to take it. • Apple Watch app: start a workout, log sets and see your heart rate from your wrist • Apple Health: finished workouts are saved to the Health app. Heart rate and calories stay on your device. • Live Activity: your rest timer and workout clock on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island • Automatic backups after every workout, with restore from Settings • Strength charts, volume tracking, and muscle group breakdowns • Weekly workout streaks to keep you consistent • 6 built-in programs: Beginner Full Body, Push/Pull/Legs, Upper/Lower, Bodyweight Only, Dumbbell Only, Home Gym • Create your own templates and organize them into folders • Import/export your data (Strong and Hevy compatible CSV) • Dark mode with a clean, focused interface Built for beginners, useful for everyone. BuildUp doesn't assume you know what you're doing — it suggests starting weights, explains every exercise, and nudges you forward without being pushy. But if you're experienced and just want a fast, clean tracker, it stays out of your way. No ads. No social feeds. Just you and your workout. Optional Premium adds the workout generator, full progress history, custom templates, and CSV export. Annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial — monthly is $3.99, annual is $29.99.
