Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: CHEK Mobile at none against Narcity's shown. CHEK Mobile also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Narcity's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 15%) and ratings volume (68 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
CHEK Mobile holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Narcity has 68 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of CHEK Mobile's written reviews are positive against 40% of Narcity's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
CHEK Mobile ships an update every 3 months, Narcity monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
