ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Encrypted Email holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Encrypted Email has 50K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Encrypted Email's written reviews are positive against 100% of Passwordstate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Encrypted Email ships an update every 10 days, Passwordstate every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
