Where does all your money go? Exactly where you tell it to!
“We started YNAB January 1st with $37 saved and ended the year with $42,000. Plus we paid $14,000 cash for a new roof.”
-Kyle, YNAB user since 2020
If you’re like the average YNABer (just AVERAGE), you’ll save $600 in the first two months. And $6,000 in the first year. But you might experience something much more powerful than a growing bank account balance or paid off credit cards: 92% of YNABers report feeling less stressed since starting YNAB.
“YNAB has removed the stress of money from my life and in doing so has helped make me a better husband. It's like I got to remove a personal flaw I had never been able to fix."
-Kyle, again. We didn’t even pay him to say this, but maybe we should.
Every dollar represents you—it’s the product of your energy. You work too hard for all that to go to waste. What's New in YNAB
24.22
December 10, 2024
What’s new in 24.22
We’ve squashed some bugs and closed some PRs so that you can keep aligning the way you spend with the way you want to live. Most notably, we’ve:
• Fixed an issue where the pills on the “Move Money” screen were itty bitty on iOS 16, so you can move money with confidence—and hopefully no squinting!
• Made an update so that Face ID and Touch ID continue to work as expected on iOS 18.
Between myself and my spouse, we had tried everything. Microsoft money. Mint. Excel spreadsheets. This tool has been the only thing that has allowed us to save and plan for the big routine expenses the medium ones and the instances where we go over budget every month here or there sometimes due to things outside our control. We would both tell anyone who asks that we have more money in savings and checking then we ever otherwise would’ve had just based on saving for things that we need years into the future. We bought a used minivan with cash during Covid. We still have bills. We still have long-term debt and a mortgage. This doesn’t change those basics, but it really allows you a bigger view of everything you have and everything that is flowing out so that you can make decisions. We freaking love the software-both the app on our phone and the computer version. The customer service is flawless and kind and responsive . It has honestly resolved everything we used to argue about with planning for routine annual expenses, Christmas, shopping, etc. and in adopting this, we’ve actually traded roles. I used to be the one who worried and told my spouse no. Now he can see the numbers for himself and he’s the one looking at how much we have left in various categories throughout the month. Meaning I’m not the bad guy anymore.
