Not happy with it
If you aren’t willing to pay for adless it plays a full length 30 second ad after every round that can’t be skipped. The game since I got it has so many bugs and problems it’s not funny. Sometimes it can’t connect for no reason, sometimes the screen will just go black and stay that way after an ad, and lately I press a button and it does nothing, the buttons won’t even press. Eg; I’ll press a button and it will make a clicking sound but will do nothing and stay on the same screen. I can’t even play any games because of this so it’s basically uselessShow lessHenenbeis

Hi Henenbeis! From what you described, it seems like a possible memory/caching issue: a quick fix would be to turn your device completely off and back on again (or force close the game and return). This is a good practice whenever you notice odd things happening in the game. On our end, the game is running smoothly, and we aren't able to reproduce the issues you described. I love this game. Unfortunately the ads sometimes freeze the app. I wish you earned more coins when you’re not playing - I go through them too quickly! More variety in the categories would be nice too. All-in-all, a fun game.gfv74
Greed is not good.
This game is geared for upper level players to start forking out for coins. There’s simply not a lot of ways to ‘earn’ coin when tournaments cost 40 coin to earn only 60 coin when you win competing against four other players! Tournaments & challenges 100 coin to play and so on!! I got to level 50 and watched my coins haemorrhage just to play more interesting challenges. So sorry the game plays reasonably well except for the rather forgiving autocorrect (which is open for cheating) and could have been 5 stars but the obvious greedy IAP gives you one star.Show lesseyesoup

Hi eyesoup! Buying coins is not a requirement for this game. Coins regenerate at a constant rate, so you can always return later to play more. You can earn additional coins by playing the game: winning game modes with payouts, placing in tournaments, reaching personal goal tiers, and watching an ad for coins. Coins are available for purchase (which helps towards supporting the free to play game), but purchasing is not required whatsoever. Thanks! -KDGood game but have to tap pay to disable ads every time
Even though you don’t have to pay every time you still have to go through the process. It also doesn’t seem to remember details like name and previous history.nadznz

Hi there! From what you described, it seems that something's impacting your game saves. Our recommendation is to connect to Facebook in your game, to preserve your history. Playing just as a guest means that there may be external factors that impact your saves: updating your operating system, updating the game, upgrading or swapping devices, etc. Doing this will also ensure that your Disable Ads purchase is in place every time you play. Great game. Lots of bugs. Doesn’t use the keyboard your phone has and the keyboard the game provides is very slow. It takes pressing a key 3-4 times to make it work. Very obnoxious. It’ll also say that you have a duplicate answer with someone but none of the other players played your answer. The most obnoxious is when you're playing against 3 other people, you tie for first but it says you lost and they give the win to the other player. No rhyme or reason as to why. No tie breaker or no splitting the winnings. Pretty frustrating All in all fun idea but needs better developers to fix some issuesShow lessKab82083759201
Fun game!
I feel like when it comes to first downloading the game, it's confusing to navigate without a "tutorial". Logging into Facebook, finding Facebook friends to play and challenge, etc took a while to understand and get. I had to log out on the app and log back in for my friends to finally show up. A full in depth tutorial doesn't seem to necessary, but tips at the beginning would be nice.
When it comes to my answers, I type in a word but the final results come up with something completely different than what I had. I feel like this has definitely caused some lost points, and it doesn't happen only to me. Overall, it's a fun game!Show lessLovin1Dxx
Game Progress
I think it is poor of the game to only allow game progress to save only is they have logged in with Facebook. There are a lot of people who aren’t allowed Facebook or simply don’t have it and for this game to delete game progress after every time I exit the game is wrong. I have had no recent updates, my device has nothing wrong with it and the app hasn’t updated in a while and so it is simply the creators fault and not mine or my devices’ fault. I hope I get a quick response and that staff immediately fix this problem that is annoying. I haven’t played this game in a long time because I’m always annoyed that I have to start all over again because the app just deletes my game progress every time I leave, which isn’t my fault. If you are reading this and haven’t got the app yet and don’t have Facebook, simply don’t get it because you will never have saved game progress.Show lessPrank-app user

Hi there! Thank you for this great feedback. Facebook is the main option we offer for those who want to keep their game experience intact. Otherwise, the game saves can be impacted by external factors (device updates, re-installs, operating system changes, etc.) As for disputes, we have a team reviewing content daily, and adding thousands of words per week! We prioritize disputes with more than 1 submissions and words for new categories, but we get around to them all eventually. Tips for avoiding auto-correct: ensure proper spelling, no plurals, can't begin w/adjectives or articles (A, An, The), no short forms, no mature content. Thanks! -KDDisappointed
Was really enjoying the game until I found out it is all rigged.
The keyboard issues are the app and not my phone or fingers.
The autocorrect gives me dud answers sometimes. Sometimes it gives me winning ones that I didn't put (refer to the rigged issue above).
The disputes are to make us think we can give feedback so we feel better, theres no real disputing or reviewing.
The game has the potential to be amazing but is pure disappointment at present.Show lessBogglety

Hi there! We actually have a team of researchers reviewing, adding, and removing content every day. We add thousands of words every week through the dispute system. The game isn't rigged. If your answer isn't in our database, auto-correct will change it to the closest match, in case of a typo. If you feel your original answer should be included (and not auto-corrected), you can tap "dispute" to submit it. -KDKeeps crashing!!!
I’ve had the board game for many, many years so thought I’d give this version a go. It’s a good game and I would have rated it at least a 3* maybe even 4* but it keeps crashing after EVERY ad! I get it’s a free game so they make money by advertising but I don’t enjoy having to close the app and then wait for it to reload after EVERY round. It takes away the pleasure in playing and if it continues for much longer I will delete the app.Show lessblueeeyore

I give it 4 stars for potential. It’s Good right now, but could be Great once they make a few improvements. One, I paid the $3 for ad free, however you still have to watch ads to play a bonus round, change categories or get extra coins. I feel like $3 is asking a lot of it doesn’t truly get rid of ads. Plus the ads are sooooooooo long and annoying, they’re all like 30 seconds and some you have to interact with. Please provide actual ad free options.
Two, I do have a random freezing problem, I’m sure it’ll be fixed with an update at some point. But for now I’m continually having to reboot the app. Plus sometimes I get a notification that my coins have refilled, only to open the app and find I have no coins or the same small amount I quit playing with.
I’d also like to see more variety of categories, seems to repeat the same ones over and over. Same with letters, I don’t feel it’s random enough, seems to be fairly consistent with only maybe half the alphabet.
Overall I love Scattergories and hope they continue to improve it.Show lessAvon97
