Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t!
Starting to get reallllllllly annoyed. I got a new phone after having deleted Scattergories for the exact same reason on my previous phone. Thought I’d give it another try in case it was my phone. Nope. It’s still happening. It opens fine every time but when I go into missions, daily challenges, anything to play a game it doesn’t work! It just has a blank page. I just downloaded this game a couple of days ago and I enjoy playing it but the ads are really getting on my nerves.... I play other free games with ads but there aren’t so many! Every once in a while should be enough, not after every single game that I play! I also think a daily bonus of coins should be added to this game, like in slot machine games. I think it’s unfair to have to spend money on coins to keep playing a free game.
Thanks for responding to my earlier review... I understand about the ads but can you please add daily or hourly coins??!! Every game that requires some kind of fee to play gives daily or hourly bonuses.... like Candy Crush, bingo games, casino games...etc. Why doesn’t this game have that??? Good game with a few major issues
Good game all in all, but a few buggy issues
1st - as other users mentioned the keyboard... needs work... wasting time going back to fix missed letters.
2nd - when you watch an add my iPad goes black and I have to back out of the game and go in. 9 times out of 10 this happens making it very frustrating to play
3rd - points system is a bit off... there should be higher rewards people aren’t willing to spend their hard earned dollars if they aren’t gettin anything in return for it.
4th - disputes take way too long to get resolved.
It is a good game but there are so many ways to get around the scoring... people just throw any word in there and it can be autocorrected by the system to make it a correct answer.Show lessKxkenvgh

Hi there! Thank you for this great feedback. We will review it with the team as we plan future updates. 1. We are working to improve the keyboard by making tweaks to its responsiveness. In the meantime, we find it helps to tap just a tiny bit more slowly. 2. We've notice a similar thing in-house, and we are working with our partners to eliminate the ads that are causing this black screen to occur. It may help to minimize the game and return to it (without force closing) - try that to see if it works! 3. Some game modes have higher payouts than others, and we're always making adjustments as we release new content to see what works best when it comes to keeping things fun, and keeping things challenging. 4. We have a team of researchers reviewing, adding, and removing content daily for quality control - to the tunes of thousands of words added each week! We prioritize disputes that have more than 1 submission, and those in new categories, to make sure our categories are as robust as possible. We do get to them all eventually though! Like the board game, this app is a great idea and it's fun for a couple of hours, but it is pretty limited. There are only four "chapters" to play (which took me, a pretty average player, about an hour to get through), and then you're limited to daily challenges and duels, which get old pretty quickly, especially because the lists and letters are limited. To advance levels in the game, you have to play the same few lists over and over or buy new ones.
The game is also pretty glitchy. It freezes up every time I watch an ad to play a bonus round, and about 40% of the time I open the app, it doesn't advance past the start screen. Re-installs haven't fixed this.
Lastly, there are a lot of "holes" in what they accept as answers. For example, they didn't accept "Ilana Glazer" as a comedian. And while you have the option to "dispute" these incorrect answers, nothing ever comes from it, even if answers are spelled correctly and obviously acceptable for the category.
Bottom line, play the free version, but don't bother buying the ad-free, because you hit a wall pretty quickly, and you still have to watch ads to access certain parts of the game.Show lessJarrgh

More lists are unlocked as you play the game: when you level up, when you play in tournaments, and when you purchase them for coins in the Get Items store. In addition, there are daily challenges, weekend tournaments, and other special events that are available. -KDGood game but..
Good game but there are SO many ads it’s ridiculous. I want to turn the game off after a couple games because I’m watching more ads than I am playing. I understand you offer a paid version with no ads but that’s no reason to pile in an ad after every bloody game on the free version. Hi there! There's just one ad between each complete round of gameplay. This helps to support ongoing development and maintenance of the game, which is free to play. Everyone is welcome to play for free, with ads, or, as you mentioned, the option to pay to remove ads is available. Thanks -KDGreat game!
It's a trivia game that I once loved playing at a party. The app is fast paced and it's got some really fun different modes. Even though some categories are harder than others it's still great!Jordz_jack
Too many issues
I really like this game. However, I am not sure if this game is still new or something but there are a few issues. One issue I have are the excessive ads. I understand they want you to pay money and that you have that option to get rid of them. But most games let you watch 5-10 seconds and then skip. With this game you are stuck watching a 30 second or longer ad after every single thing you do. The second issue I have is the boosts. My husband and I play against each other and mine always tells me I won and vice versa for him. If you get a boost, it needs to show up for both people. It takes the fun and challenge out of the game when we both win every single time. The third issue is that it freezes up on me quite often. If they could fix these things this game would be great. But as of right now we are so frustrated/annoyed we are close to just deleting it.Show lessMichelleNeal0924

There's just one ad between each full round, which helps support ongoing development & maintenance of the free to play game. You can find a Disable Ads option in the coin store if you prefer to remove the video interstitials. For the boosts, they're there to give an advantage to the person who holds the boost, but no disadvantage to the other player in his or her game. When it comes to freezing, I can definitely understand how that would be frustrating. We monitor crash reports on our end and work very hard to make sure we resolve anything that may be casuing the freezing. If it's ever happening frequently, please try turning your device off/on for a fresh start, it case it's a caching or memory issue at play. Thanks for giving us some great things to consider. -KDGah!
I just wrote a giant review to try to give the developers a little perspective from a long time player of the board game. I hit a button and am unsure if i deleted it or submitted it. There is no mistaking the review i speak of. It is huge and i had a ton of feedback from a technical and scoring standpoint mostly. Also identify a couple "must-have" tweaks. Could u respond to let me know if you received, and if not i will carve out a month or two to create a new one. Yes, kidding. I have so far spent a very unreasonable and couch potato-ey amount of time with this app. I really needed another thing to waste perfectly good time on so thanks for that ;).Show lesssick and crazy
Fun times
Great fun. Quite a few repeats with categories and letters resulting in the same answers, and a few answers not allowed I assume because they weren't American references. Correct this and I'll happily give it 5 stars.Rubyfive
So addicting!
This game is fun and exciting! I'm addicted to it. There are a few bugs with it but over all I love it. Some problems I have seen are that they sometimes accept an answer and other times the same answer won't be accepted. You have the option to "dispute" if you don't agree with your results but I haven't seen anything come from disputing. I'm not sure if they actually read them or not. Another problem is that sometimes even when an answer is correct they won't take it. And yes you can dispute it but you still don't get your points. For example: the letter is "C" and the category is "cereal" and my answer was "captain crunch" but it wasn't accepted. We all know captain crunch is a kids cereal but still I didn't get my points. Also I have noticed if I play against my friend, it will say we both won, but when you look at the score, one is clearly higher then the other. And the last problem with this game is that even if I win a round, it costs more to play that round then what I get for winning. This must be a way to try and get people to spend actual money. But like i said, I love this game and it's worth playing.Show lessKtay315

Hi Ktay315! Thank you for this great feedback, which will be shared with the team. We do have a team of researchers resolving disputes, to the tune of thousands of words daily! However, we prioritize disputes with more than one submission, and those for new categories. Also, we can only accept disputes that meet our guidelines, for example: ensure proper spelling (ex. Capn Crunch is the correct spelling so we are unable to accept Captain Crunch), no plurals, can't begin w/articles or adjectives (A, An, The), no short forms, no mature content. As for discrepancies between scores, that will occasionally happen if one person has a points boost active. The points boost impacts the score of the person who is using the boost, in his or her game only. Others won't see that boost applied. Thanks again! -KD
