Was working now it crashes

It crashes when opening. So annoying. I’m on a board and we use this to communicate.
I have removed the app rebooted my phone reinstalled. No joy. Web is the only option.
It was working perfectly.

Basecamp is great but man is it slow

Click on the link from the email and then wait 10 mins for the page to render in the app. Especially when the threads get longer. Surely something can be done?

Image Attachment in iOS very buggy

I kinda hate this app simply because I can’t reliably attach a screen shot from my iPhone. The app is so buggy in this regard that I can’t use it for anything beyond simple text interaction. Without the ability to reliably attach screen shots or other images from my iPhone, the app is little more than a tool to post text-only comments to BaseCamp.

The app asks me to select from my iPhone which images I want to pull in. Then I click “done” and the images I just selected don’t show up as options for upload/attachment. I mean…come on. It’s 2022. We ought to be able to easily attach an image from my ooo home. I mean, come on!

OOO

Really glad you’ve included OOO into the app however OOO should silence notifications. I don’t want to have change my settings to only forget to change them back when I turn OOO off. It’s still easier to delete the app rather than adjust settings which renders OOO kinda useless.

Last update has left connectivity issues

I’ve been using this app over a year now and it’s worked well with the exception of a few nagging issues. After the last update, I am repeatedly getting a reconnecting message when trying to ping someone (as if I’m not connected to the web). Force closing the app and reopening is the only way to get rid of the error.
Creating group pings are nice but it would be great if you could pin that group text thread for regular use without have to create yet another team.
The structure takes a bit to get used to but for the most part, it’s a great communication platform. It is difficult to find where a ping originated from at times.
Highlights
Ability to post PDF documents ion preview mode - no need to download and open, just view as a pic.
To Do’s assignable to team members with notifications and categorized/grouped
Comments after announcements to organize conversations
Mobile app notifications are instantaneous
Ability to ping documents back and forth quickly

Easily accessible app buttons need improvement

To-do list items should be added to the easily accessible icons at the bottom of the app. I’m currently only working on 1 basecamp project and that would be a helpful addition to my home screen let alone the Home Screen of basecamp users working on more than 1 project at a time!

Pay $99/mo for abandoned software

Basecamp 3 is basically abandoned at this point. Staples of project management software that customers have requested for years like timeline/gantt views, a functional calendar, recurring tasks, workflow automations, improved email capabilities, reasonable integration with other business apps, etc, have fallen on the deaf ears of basecamps’s snarky customer support team for years. Yes they claim to be working on “version 4” but won’t say what will be included or when it’s coming. The “improvements” they’ve released so far are small cosmetic updates mostly to the web experience. Really a shame because aesthetically basecamp is very pleasing to use but it’s now the runt of the litter.

Good but Campfire is overwhelming

I’m not sure why Campfire doesn’t have comment threads like Facebook, so it gets very overwhelming when all the comments just keep piling up underneath one another and you can’t keep track. This seems quite outdated. Also, on the browser version, when you press enter, that posts your comment so you can’t have paragraphs. This makes it even more confusing.

Easy to use but no product updates in 3 years

I’ve been using Basecamp with my company for 3 years or so. It’s really easy to use. Easy to make projects, group chats, etc. creating tasks and assigning them are easy as well, however it is a bit simple.

There really isn’t any customization at all. My biggest problem is that you can’t silence group pings (chats). People are constantly double texting, and it sends a notification for each message.

There isn’t really anyway to set up workflows. You just make lists of to-dos and assign them but there isn’t any conditional functions or order to it.

You can’t lock certain things on the app or have any admin control. For example, any user in a project or team can delete the project/team and put it in the trash! It’s not hard to recover, but still, poor functionality.

There is no dark mode.

I’ve left messages with the support team about some of these issues but they just say “that’s a really good idea” and then nothing happens. It just seems like this app won’t really ever get a real update.

Unfortunately I have to keep using the app because I’m not the boss, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with teams bigger than 10 people.

Your data is not yours as they promise you.

I had an issue and asked basecamp to tell me a specific piece of data relating to my account. It was a paid account, paid in advance.

They declined then referred me to their New York based lawyers.

Your data is not yours just know this.

Like most tech companies they love the benefit of a worldwide user base then hide behind their lawyers.

The things you do and don’t do have repurcusions for real people. We’re bot just churn and AOV.

All the altruistic BS you pump out there doesn’t make up for what you actually do and how you act.

Palm offs to lawyers are a joke.

International law and being referred to New York lawyers is plain BS.

What you give you get back ten fold.
