Just started started using Basecamp & am very pleased. I've never been able to stick with any PM software but wind up reverting to a range of cobbled options-- I can't see that happening here though, it all feels so easy and appropriate to my needs. Kinda too psyched, lol.
Founders force out their employees
Unethical founders harassed one of their employees after a group discussion thread took a political turn. Then decided to ban political conversations at work as they were a distraction. Then offered severance packages to all employees who wanted to leave. 23 of their 57 employees have resigned in the first 48 hours.

Great app - Needs Dark mode!
I love Basecamp, my company uses it and we have loved it. We switched over from Slack due to price, and have actually had a better experience in the long run.
The only reason I am rating 4 stars and not 5 is because I really want to see dark mode. Basecamp is one of the only apps I regularly use that doesnโt have it. Would love to see that feature, as it has in some ways become standard in the app world.

Feels less like a chat room, more like a work room
Perfect project tool for small startup
Have been using Basecamp since 2012, as the primary project management platform for my startup. Tools are relatively simple, but these are really the essentials for a small company. Lots of ways too yo integrate with other tools.
A god sent for our org
Basecamp has been a god sent for our small dog rescue non-profit. Staying in communication about dogs health, medications, behavior changes, adoptions, announcements, tasks etc in the moment and to plan for the future is crucial. Basecamp allows a separate work space in our phones that not only keeps everyone up to speed but allows lots of feedback opportunities amongst staff that we previously didnโt have. We are obsessed with this program. It is worth every penny! I donโt know what we would do without it.
The only change I would ask for is notifications options for Campfire chat messages.

Downloading videos and photos is difficult
I love the app in every other way !
I am having a hard time with downloading pics and videos that people post . It gives me an option to download but it really does take 20 minutes to complete each download. Especially a video . Not sure why .

All the functions you need, none that you donโt.
As the headline says, itโs not bloated by a multitude of hard to discover and hard to use functions that no one ever uses, but it does what it needs to do very well. I love it.
Disappointing
For an app that has been around a long time, Iโm shocked at the number UX/UI deficiencies. One tiny example, when Iโve selected a PING conversation to view, how do I know which one I selected? Thereโs no highlight of ANY kind to indicate what conversation Iโm in.
Also, why not time/day stamp each response ? The only way to know what day the thread youโre scrolling through is, is by finding the header at the top of the thread. Crazy.
