Not what it used to be
The Outbound used to be a great app for finding awesome adventures that are off the radar. It was my go-to for weekend hikes or destination backpacking trips. User-curated activities. beautiful photos. Great descriptions that had character and heart and represented the passion of a true outdoors enthusiast.
Now it’s basically a less robust version of Alltrails.

As an outdoor camping company, we are stoked to have access to locations around the world where we can explore. We are excited to become part of communities that are passionate about the adventure. Great outdoor app guys!
Needs some work
Website seems more robust than app ironically. Website includes some good info on lots of hikes but app seems focused on short term rentals.
Was saddened to read mission statement on website exposing race as main focus of company mission and implying cis white is bad. Wish outdoors was just for anyone who wants to be outdoors not race based.

best travel app for cooler less traveled activities
the outbound has great content to get off the beaten path, I’ve found watering holes in Colombia and hog trails in Kauai. great content, just hope everyone that is using remember to respect the land and lnt!
Great app small problems
I found this app and used it yesterday and overall it is a great app. It did a super job of keeping me on trail and finding the trail head. When I went to submit a review of the trail it let me put in a heading but it wouldn’t pull up a keyboard for a review so I couldn’t leave the review. Same problem with the picture I wanted to insert. I could put in a picture and not a review. Other than that it is a fabulous app

Thanks for the review, and glad you're enjoying the app! We figured out the issue, looks like you have to tap *right* at the beginning of the field right now, but tapping the rest of the text area doesn't work. Appreciate you reporting that bug and we'll get that fixed asap!
Whoa! New update to a great app!
New interface is smooth and fast. With the addition of gpx tracks, the app not only helps find new stuff to do, but helps me stay on track while doing it. My all-in-one fav for adventure discovery and exploration.

i use this app often—when i’m trying to find details on an adventure i’m already planning on going to.... or when i’m at home, wanting to get out & do something, but not quite sure what’s around. it’s really helped me get to know the area around my new city! i really like the “offline” feature, which is obviously ideal for when you’re in an area without service (which is often for me). i also have my “to-do” lists for different parts of my new state. the filters on the previous version i felt were hard to use, but the newer version works better. i also am interested in trying the new lodging feature! keep up the good work!

Great updated version
I like the changes especially the addition of lodging. The offline maps are a tremendous addition as many areas do not have cell reception. I am looking forward to trying the new features and watch for updates as we plan a return to travel. Great job and appreciate the forward thinking by the Outbound team!

The updated app makes it even easier to find the best things to do near me. GPX is a great new addition for keeping me on track.
