Good Brain Exercise
I like this Scrabble-type game because it keeps my brain alert and it’s fun creating the longest word possible. There is a learning curve because the letters you receive are a gamble. You might end up with all vowels at the end so you learn how to build partial words then connect them together but always leaving your options open for the remaining letters. I like the random opponent game and afterwards when looking at the score I also look at the words the other player created to expand my vocabulary. The game includes wild cards but it will make up a different word than what you had in your mind. You still earn points when submitting it but you have no idea what the word means! It’s a fun game and is challenging but it’s not time consuming unless you can’t walk away from the opponent challenge. I play this game through my Apple Arcade subscription so it’s not looking for all your money like other games. Give it a try!Developer Response
Thank you for your positive and elaborate review! Your mentioned strategy is a very valid one! Partial words are the key to those 15 letter big score words! It's a low risk, high reward strategy and probably the best way to play the game. Our wild cards will always try to create a valid word regardless of points or outcome, so sometimes they can come up with words that are unknown to the player. Do note that they are malleable, and they will change if you add additional letters to that word. You can read more about them here: https://www.wordsinprogressthegame.com/frequently-asked-questions/#toggle-id-3 A big update with more features is coming soon, so stay tuned! Thank you once again for your review and we wish you fun playing Words in Progress!Screentime Error
Hello. I agree with another review. This seems like a good game, however this is an error with it incorrectly saying there is a Screentime limit on the Daily Challenge, when there is not. I know where to look in my Mac for this setting and it is not turned on anywhere. It is 100% an app issue, not an indivdual. Definitely need to look into this. Hard to review when I can't access all the features. Please do not respond with your generic this is how you fix your screentime like you did with Molly949 review. I know my computer. It's your app.Developer Response
Hi! Thank you for your review! We are sorry to hear you are encountering difficulties with our game. We are very open to provide a fix, but it seems (based on research we did due to Molly's review) like you (both) ran into a bit of an edge case. This makes things very difficult for us to test without the exact isolated situation you are in. We would be greatly helped with your direct input. If possible, could you send us a message through our website: https://www.wordsinprogressthegame.com/send-us-a-message/ or directly via mail: info@wordsinprogressthegame.com. We are sure we can provide a fix if we can get some additional back-and-forth input. We hope to hear from you. Either way, we've added your report to our immediate 'to do' list and will surely take a deep dive into the possible source of the issue. Thank you in advance and thank you for playing our game!Fun & Quick - can get repetitive
Super fun and games go quick. You can easily mess up words with the flick of a thumb, and repeated letter patterns are common creating the spelling of the same or similar words over and over. Fun for now but don’t know about longevity of the game with very limited word list.
Update: suggested setting to confirm merger only creates the same issues but makes the game more awkward. Acceptance of abbreviations and vowel and consonant blends as complete words is silly when words like fetish are not permitted. Deleted app, fun while it lasted.Developer Response
Hi! Thank you for your review. If you are having trouble with accidental merges (or with 'fast fingers'), you can always try to enable the 'Merge Confirm' option in the Settings. This allows for an additional confirm / decline option after every merge. Stay tuned for more features and game modes in the future! Thank you once again.
