A dog of an app
I have been using fitness trainers for over 15 years, and this kinetic smart trainer app is amongst the worst I’ve ever seen. They clearly are not focusing on updating the app to fix various bugs, such as the fact that calibration is a massive problem for many of their users. The interface itself is non-intuitive, with confusing messages to use simple functions like calibration, and syncing. When you read support messages around many of the issues, they essentially blame the user. While their early, non-smart versions of their trainer were good, they have simply not kept up with the times. They’ve been playing catch-up for 5+ years. instead of fixing issues or even getting ahead of the curve, they are hanging on for dear life and hoping to keep enough loyal users to keep revenues steady and eventually get bought by a bigger fish. Do yourself a favor and just go with the bigger fish in the first place.

No Strava connectivity
Won’t let users connect to Strava
No longer connects to Strava
It’s a good app and connects seamlessly to my Schwinn IC4 bike, but the number of members trying to connect to Strava is over their limit. No way of contacting Kinetic on their website. Shame. I had high hopes.
No Support
I’ve been using the app for several years and it has worked well. Lately, however, the feature that uploads the completed workouts to Training Peaks not longer works. The Support tab on the app and the website is a link to the Zendesk website. However, Kinetic is no longer a Zendesk client according to Zendesk linked page. I called the Kinetic Fit 800 number and got a recording telling me to go the Zendesk link which, of course, doesn’t work. The recording also said they would get back to me and that was about a week ago. If they don’t get back to me I will cancel my subscription which I am reluctant to do given the years of exercise data it has.

Good but basic and bland
The app does everything it’s supposed to. I wish I had more workout/terrain options and a more interesting interface. I mostly use the free ride option and love that it connects to Strava.
Outdated App. Free version OK
Used this primarily to sync with indoor spin bike. Free version was useful to get wattage and some data on fitness progress. (Although very questionable accuracy)
Tried the premium version trial and for the cost it is a primitive app. You’re basically buying their training plans and that’s it.
Custom work outs are basic. There is preloaded custom work outs you cannot delete, so the folder is cluttered with ‘test’ rides. Minimal customization on displays, target data, etc. Not worth 100/yr whatsoever.

No reply from cs
I am having issues trying to upload a workout to TrainingPeaks. I have tried all ways to make contact with Kinetic and have not received any reply nor assistance, Shame as hardware is good.
Disappointing Silo
I have a Kinetic trainer, and upgraded the sensor from the OG Bluetooth (which did nothing with my new phone) to the 3.
It reports to Apple Health which is great! But, it’s only the heart rate data, in what looks like lower-than-usual resolution.
Training Peaks is supposed to upload all my Apple Health activity, but it doesn’t upload activity from this app.
Kinetic is supposed to be able to upload to training peaks, but it hasn’t worked for me yet.
So I have workouts that have a lot of data that feel trapped in this app.
Here’s the real ask: as an update to the sensor, WatchOS, or in the next Kinetic sensor, whatever change that will let the sensor’s power meter talk directly to WatchOS 10+.
I like the Apple UI and heart rate zones way better than chasing a number in this app, my integrations work; the cadence, speed, heart, (and hopefully power) data lives in my Apple Health database.
Right now Kinetic is the only power meter and trainer I have, and I really wish I could get the rich data my outside rides on WatchOS give me about everything but power.

Bugged
Used to work fine, but then for some reason it has my wheel diameter at 2.3m, and there’s no means to change it to less than 1.5m. Thinks I’m riding at 250 km/h. Can’t fix it, can’t find help with it.
