Not as good as other options
My prior thermostat was from Ecobee. That thermostat like its competitor from Google was so easy to use and problem free.
Unfortunately, I had to upgrade my old AC unit and decided to go with Lennox sure to Costco rebates. The AC itself works decently. But the app is crap.
First, there is no app support and repairs are only through the AC installers. Secondly, despite the temperature settings, the app runs my AC unit to settings that it makes up on its own. Thirdly, unlike other companies with regular app undates, Lennox is mainly an AC manufacturer thus the app rarely gets updated. #4 the web version is rendered incorrectly on my 34 inch monitor🙄. #5 most importantly, the app is not as intuitive or simple to use as compared to others.

These guys can’t make hardware or software
I purchased two high-end XC 25s a few years ago both of the thermostats failed so I ended up getting one in March and then a new one in April of this past year. This app that you are reading the review for now is the thermostat they gave me in March but I could not use the same app for the Thermostat I received in April. I have to use a totally separate app. I now have two apps to control two of the same hardware units and Lennox will not do anything about it to unify them l. Imagine having two versions of Gmail for two different Gmail accounts or controlling half of the lights in your house with one app and half with another. It’s completely ridiculous. The fact that they let this happen means they don’t know what they’re doing. don’t buy Lennox on top of that. I’ve had over $10,000 in repairs on these two units. I repeat do anything you can to not buy Lennox ever.

Air quality display
Works well for the most part, however the air quality displayed is not accurate. For example, the forest fires in BC last year made our air very smoky and people were advised to stay indoors. The thermostat showed that the air quality was good! Also, it is supposed to work with my Alexa…it doesn’t!
App was better before
I liked when it used to show if the system was actively cooling or heating (snow flakes for A/C or red waves for heating) Now I never know. Have adjusted the system and/or temperature on several occasions just to leave the app, thinking my changes were registered and found out several hours later that it wasn’t. Now I don’t trust the app like I used to and I don’t use it nearly as often as before. Please change it back to how it used to be. Thanks for considering.

Not great
The eccobee is what I would prefer
Limited finctionality
I had an Ecobee thermostat previously and was easy to use and better tool for monitoring and adjusting temp/humidity. The tech’s don’t’ access it from off site as l was told was a valuable asset. Can’t change weather channel that gives local information. Doesn’t manage auto heat/cool well.
Can only view thermostat settings but not change them anymore
I was able to view and change settings for years, and a couple of months ago I could only view. Nothing on my network changed. This also applies to when I attempt to change settings remotely. I have tried from multiple devices including Windows and have updated the app too.
Not bad but could be better.
It would be nice to have a widget for this. Also for setting schedules, it should be a lot simpler than the way they have it set up. Look at the EcoBee app as it has a lot better UI setup. But over all this app does the job. Also for the app and the thermostat why just why can’t we have one that shows Fahrenheit and Celsius at the exact same time. in reality it would be a super simple feature. you could have Celsius or Fahrenheit or both.

Almost perfect app
The app has improved dramatically. Very useful and functions very well. I would like to see more automation with smart home systems and larger geo away range
I don’t have to get up to turn up!
We have a split level house. One of the first things I do when I wake up, is turn up the heat. Our thermostat is down two floors (that was decided when I was 30 years younger). Now, I can turn up the heat before I go downstairs and the house is warm. Plus, if no one remembered to turn it down at bedtime, I can do it without running downstairs. When we leave town, I can turn the heat up 30 mins. before we get home and the house will be cozy when we arrive. We find it very convenient and efficient.
