Use to work, but not anymore.
Update 2:useless app, don’t waste your money it do not work most of the time. I need to uninstall it and install again to have it work couple day. I have 2 recent ipad, same issue on both.
Update 1: Seem that now it works, deleted the app and setting helped. Will know more in a day or two..
I use bommerang for a year on their beta service for free. Worked 100% of the time. Then it started to work 90% of the time.
The service is now paid and I was not sure if it was reliable enough to paid... But I really need it so a paid. Now it is unusable. 1 ipad works, receive the command. But when sending new command it take age. At least 5 min before the command is receive and acknowledge. Since it use their server to relay the command I guess their server is busy/slow or ??...

Also note that without wifi or internet connection the ipad will not lock scheduled timed. the lock need to come from their server at the scheduled time.
The second ipad works 1 out of 3 days. Completely removed the app and the remote control configuration. re-install.. then worked everything was lock. trying to unlock, no success, Bommerang report the ipad having push notification disabled. but everything is turned on. So useless and can’t fix the issue on that ipad (everything else works perfectly)
Also the the remote control configuration is locked with the ipad passcode when you want to remove it. Dumb, since if your kids are smart, then they can disable the locking in 2 seconds. I saw other app that use a custom code instead.
I wish Bommerang will work.. I will give it another try, but i have not much hope in that software.Show lessDrFsol

I absolutely loved this app at first because it was extremely user friendly and I could control my kids’ use with a touch of a button. The devices went into an area where the signal was weak and the app has not worked right since. It no longer updates their locations, follow the time schedules or send commands to their devices. It’s frustrating. Especially after I pay monthly for the app. I have since contacted support and I’m waiting on a reply. Hopefully it will get repaired.Show lessSlimagain@31

Hi - apologies for never replying to your review. About the same time you left this review last year, Apple was rejecting parental control apps like ours. They changed their decision this summer and we are now approved to offer our parental controls again. This is great except it doesn’t turn everything off after the selected time if your child is playing an app on the iPad. So I still have to put my own timer on and tell her to put it down ensuing the argument this app was intended to avoid. However once child/argument is complete you can remotely close off all apps on the iPad and then grant access. The timers if granted access are useless as I already said they don’t close the apps down when the child is on one!Show lessLadyB78

Hi - about the time you had issues last year, Apple was rejecting apps like ours but have reversed their decision this past summer. Very frustrated with this app. Downloaded the app on my phone and the kids phones. But, I can’t get it off the Share the link page on the main device (my phone). Therefore I can’t see or control anything on my kids phones.rabernathy05
Very disappointing...
Had same issue with this app uninstalling existing apps unexpectedly and would not recommend this to anyone. Had to reinstall every app that was lost and even after removing completely there were issues with my phone.JoshuaMcIntosh

Hi - apps disappearing is a normal behavior when age limits are set to apps or when the screen time schedule is passed. We do mention this during our app set up and maybe we should reiterate in our Parent Mode remote control. If you haven't found an alternative, we are back on the App Store with the same controls as before after Apple rejected parental control apps like ours last year. I tried this out to review. Deleted all my apps without telling me automatically after i download the software, and i couldn’t reinstall them because it deleted App Store even maps and web browser, insanely dangerous to not allow WhatsApp or Maps for your child’s protection and safety.
Took me ages to work out to uninstall the control over my phone, i had to go to “mobile device management” on my phone settings and uninstall. Never ever install this.Show lesscharlottelem

It really is amazing app. Does everything to keep your kids safe. Was considering a purchase, however then realised it is not compatible with Samsung galaxy tab e 😔laurusha6

Hi - hiding user installed apps is normal behavior for our app. We inform the user during the installation of our app that this will occur when apps are blocked by age group or when a screen time schedule is met.Fantastic app
I purchased the app when it was on offer for Apple products free for a year.
It’s very useful when restriction is needed and it is managed very well.
